Yes I think my LEDs which I think are crap will be coming out and having the original globes done in the dye. Wonder what colours you can get it in?

there are heaps of colours and shades available. they are avaibale from places like spotlight and craft shops. also bunnings. its just globe/glass paint. but find a piece of loom you can have access too as they globes dry by heat, so plug them in turn them on then paint. will set alot quicker

Just read entire thread
Looking real good there Troy I think now you really need to paint bars and side moulds white to match rest of car - especially with black mould strips My mate had blue strips in his old white EB which looked really good also

Troydude - I may just go back to some clear T-10's with blue coating on my climate control. It is too dim to see clearly in the sunlight thanks to the directional nature of LEDs... Never mind.
You can buy a "glass stain effect" spray can (paint) from bunnings that should do the trick by the way. Only ever used it as an experiment, which it failed, but for this sort of thing it would work beauty. Time to pull out a little torque set and finish your red cabin Troybro. Brett i got mine from autobarn they only had it in red and orange. i think spotlight or bunnings might have a wider range of colours. |

Dude. Just spent last half hour looking through sites for a decent head unit (DVD, MP3, DIVX etc) that is red and the best I could find is a Pioneer that allows you to select RED or GREEN for the button backlights, but the LCD readout still looks blue. Bugger.
Didn't actually try Aussie E-Bay tho....... And just used up my allotment of car research internet time. Damn school holidays. |

its a minor set back though..
im going to disconnect the ilumination wire from the head unit so it doesnt light up when the unit is off and the headlights are on... im not going to buy a new head unit just yet as this one is only a few months old... |

Ahah --- Don't suppose you want to risk opening it up and seeing if you can change it yourself then? I actually found on mine that the illumination wire works in reverse - If you remove it (like mine) it is ON all the time. I found that the dimmer signal voltage from the Fairmont dash was turning the backlight off entirely on my stereo whenever the lights were on. Made for odd situations at night time - to see what the DVD player was trying to tell me, I had to flick the lights off....!

Or will it eventullay crack and peel, i would be more incline to buy the dye made specificly for the job. Save the headache of pulling it all out again. Josh |
