Troydude,

I understand what you're saying about being able to advance or r'tard spark, but how often do you actually use this "feature"? Couldn't you just spend $200 on the programmable chip and programmer and start d**k around with custom tuning and never worry about a aux shaft or points fowling as long as you both shall live?

You got a VCT... Those rocker covers look damn fine huh? Specially in the old white box - should be a bloody eye opener that's for sure. Be even more eye opening if you got the block sandblasted and covered it with clear with a little sparkly blue mixed in.
8-)

Remember I'm good for $50/week over however long it takes when it comes time to sell the head. Probably take six months just to pay for the shipping however. Sad, that head work and cam sound right up my alley. BENJ could probably be convinced to install it into his EL if you really are flogging it off tho... Am sure that if you put it on his motor whilst he was asleep he'd not be kicking it out of bed in the morning.

Awesome Troyindividual, happy for you both - you and your boxed VCT.

the au vct is either on or off so afaik it has 2 positions and changes the cam timing over 3500rpm. its similar to the bbm so im going to hook the vct actuator to the bbm signal via a relay so when the bbm switches over the vct will adjust the cam timing at the same time..

well the ignition timing is set once. but with the ignition timing set at the factory setting the rear wheel torque figure is much less then it is with the dizzy advanced 10 deg more..
and to run coilpack in a ed its not just a chip needed, ill need to change the whole engine bay loom to ef as the ecu's are completely different to ed or el(different plugs)
or i can spend over $1000 and get an aftermarket ecu just to get the coilpacks working..
i think ill stick to the dizzy.
ill get good results without spending another $1000 on a ecu

That'll explain your smoke :P

I want to see the VCT in and running before Friday. We (as I am sure that I am not the only one interested) would also like to be taken for a drive to see how much benefit there is in the VCT into an E-series. Chop Chop :D

Check your valve stem seals before you take your motor out mate. Might save a bit of time/money.

ive already pulled the engine out and there may be a valve stem seal problem or lack of seals.
when i pulled the intake manifold off the ed engine the intake ports were flooded with oil.

anyway the engine is out...

ive fitted the bbm and acessories from my old engine to the au one..
i might have gotten further but after fitting the gearbox i looked down and realised silly me! i forgot to put the steel sandwitch plate between the box and bellhousing.
so it all had to be pulled back apart, pull the flywheel off to fit the plate.lol.

then i had to cut a groove in the front of the k frame bend the bar forward and weld it up..

i ran out of daylight so it should be in tomorrow.

Well done Troy.

Looks like it belongs there.

At least the weather gave you a bit of a break today.

Cheers
