Is it any good troy? what did it set you back? Shame it can't run the big injectors though.

the smt6 was about $450..
ive read some good things about it and it seems to be very popular in europe..
and it can be tuned on the fly via laptop computer..much cheaper than the chiptorque chip n tune..

at the moment there seems to be no need for the bigger injectors as he is having trouble with it running rich..
ive also got a new set of 36lb injectors aswell

although i might have a short somewhere because as soon as i turn the aircon on the engine floods and stalls :? so ill go see joe tomorrow and see whats going on ....

Yeah but your XR6T injectors are 29-32lb (depending who you talk to) and your 36lb injectors are the ev1's from a supercharged commodore yeah? There all to big for the standard ecu and it sounds like the piggy back can't back the duty cycle off enough to lean it out.

Try the 20lbs (au) but i think they will be to small, as i said 24lbs will give you 12.5 afr at 8-10psi from your blower.

Oh btw do you still have your old bonnet with the vents?

yea the xr6t ones are surposed to be 29lb and the 36lb are the white ev6 injectors..
and yea it seems that the piggyback doesnt want to back the duty cycle enough..

joe did recomend the 24lb injectors but we decided to try use the 29lb's

a HUGE thanks to DAZZLE for fixing and welding the pipework..thats some top notch work right there... :D .
the pipework is now shorter, neater and doent seem to hit anything anymore..
im going to remove the pipework today to change my injectors again..

yep i checked them this morning they were a sooty black..

i put the au injectors back in and its not running rich anymore.
but somehow the tps had fried and still kept stalling so i changed the tps and it seems to have stopped stalling but i might have a bigger problem??
i took it out for a run and under boost it poped the top radiator hose?? :(
so either the hose was just old or it has poped the head gasket....

ill wait untill it cools down and change the top hose then ill see what happens...

Hey Troy,

Happy to help out. Thanks SWC, for your kind words.

Surely the radiator hose is just a dodgy one. It has been running rough as you say, but seriously not enough to stuff the head gasket.......surely???? God knows there was enough fuel getting pumped in there to prevent detonation.

Makes me wonder, now you have the blower, if the 6 into 1 extractors i have would make the car breathe better over your current ones?? You have pacies dont you??

Cheers

well i think i sorted the stalling problem out, the tps voltage was way out..
so ive replaced the tps and bumped the idle up a bit..
so far its looking like it was just the old radiator hose.. not the head gasket..fewww
ive changed the hose put more coolant in and its not running hot. it doesnt seem to be over pressurising the cooling system..
so thats a good thing..ill go for a drive later and see how it runs..

no pacies... im running the genie short series extractors ..
