Hey troy, I have not had a look at your thread for a bit. Dazzle has done a nice job with the intake pipe, very nice indeed. May I ask Dazzle did you use a plasma to make the cutouts for the BBM and strut to clear the pipe? Troy I have a new frequency switch for switching the VCT, and wanted to ask you about the plug for the VCT solenoid? what wire is for the signal coming from the switch and witch for the earth?

Cheers

the red wire/ or top pin in the vct solinoid is 12v ignition.
and the white wire/ or bottom pin is earth or trigger wire..

i seen joe today..
need to re tune it again but due to a problem with joes laptop.. im going to have to wait a few days..

the issues i was having on friday were the tps was fried and the isc had packed it in and those ba injectors flow way to much for the std ecu.. when i checked my oil on saturday it was diluted with fuel, the plugs were sooty black..lol.. so at the moment im back to no piggyback ecu,the au injectors and retarded ignition timing and its running ok again..
so its back to how it was before the tune..so now its drivable with a bit of boost.. just cant rev it out as it leans out over 8 psi. so it just needs the fuel table bumped up so i can keep using the std injectors and fix the cold start issue the piggyback has..
(it dont start cold..thats the issue) lol..

Plasma would make to much of a mess on the inside of the tube to clean out.

5 inch grinder and a half round file FTW.......

Daz :D

Cool, a bit of time with the file then lol. I will admit, I have not used a plasma before, although its on the shopping list. Does the plasma give a finish a bit the same as when you cut mild steel with an oxy. I was under the impression the plasma can give a nice clean cut, alot easier than with an oxy.

well here is a little update..
the car went back for a tune with the au injectors and it only made a verry poor 155rwkw..with afr of 14.5:1.. while with the ba ones it made 175rwkw running to rich.afr of 10:1
so now its running to lean wtf...
so i re fitted the ba injectors again and tomorrow it getting another tune..

this time if there is any issues with the tune/ecu after this.. the smt ecu will be going in the f**k bin..

Damn i nearly made myself buy one but after joe converts V8 maf to map, hm.

Im still deciding between tweecer n smt so i figure your results will sway me, bro i still believe that you will hit 200 with the ba injectors or you could try some bosch injectors.

Hang in there mate.

You sure you dont want to give my rising rate reg a try out?? You could keep your AU injectors, and the get more fuel under boost ( when you need it) Have a good idle, and prolly no cold start issues.

Try the rising rate Troy, it can't hurt and it will probably help.

thanks guys..
but i do have an adjustable rising rate reg..but i removed it when i put the 29lb injectors in..
when i had the rising rate reg with the au injectors it was still running lean up top..and when i adjusted it to give it more it than ran to rich down low..
but the main reason i went with the tune was because i couldnt stop the pinging top end..

i never thought there would be so much drama with the tune..
and there is still the issue with it not wanting to run under cold start..

thats why im at the point where i want to chuck this smt and buy a decent ecu set up...
the amount ive spent on this smt and now its going for its 3rd tune i could have brought the top of the line ecu..lol
