your not too bad with electrics troyman there are a few other options..

Programmable High Energy Ignition System
http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=KC5442&CATID=25&form=CAT&SUBCATID=347

and this

Digital Fuel Adjuster
http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=KC5385&CATID=25&form=CAT&SUBCATID=347

thats not to say i know how they go so if anyone familiar with such devices could comment it would be very helpful.

thanks guys..
but i do have an adjustable rising rate reg..but i removed it when i put the 29lb injectors in..
when i had the rising rate reg with the au injectors it was still running lean up top..and when i adjusted it to give it more it than ran to rich down low..
but the main reason i went with the tune was because i couldnt stop the pinging top end..

i never thought there would be so much drama with the tune..
and there is still the issue with it not wanting to run under cold start..

thats why im at the point where i want to chuck this smt and buy a decent ecu set up...
the amount ive spent on this smt and now its going for its 3rd tune i could have brought the top of the line ecu..lol

Must be dodgy........If you set the pressure at factory level...45 psi?? or 300Pka, whatever...you shouldn't get any more fuel than standard at idle, or low vacuum, but once it sees pressure the base pressure rises accordingly..........hence more fuel. You should be able to trim this excess with the SMT thingy.

I did tell you to get a stinger....lol

well as for the fuel reg it started off with the el 300kpa reg
than i changed it to the au vct one which is the 350kpa it improved compared to how it was with the el one..it then but still not enough.

then with the ba injectors without the smt it just fills the sump up with fuel..lol

im thinking there is a possibility that the smt is just rubbish???

well ill see what happens..before i pass full judgement..

Maybe J3 chip is the go?? A stinger will still be semi-piggyback, but 100 times better control

You can copy my tune to get you started.....lol

Try an 8 to 1 fmu with the au injectors id lend you mine but its a 12 to 1 and would be way too much.

With the au injectors you should be able to get around 240ish rwkw at around 80 psi, shouldn't hurt the fuel pump.

Id see if you could run the fmu with a tune aswell?? might be your final option... bloody cars hey..

well no good news yet...
according to cms the cold start issue is pip signal interfearence to the piggyback ecu possibly from the rpm switch that was running the vct.. so i went and removed the rpm switch so no more vct for me..
but now for some reason that has not been sorted yet, the car now dont run at all...
the other issue of stalling when the aircon is turned on was cms had accidently connected the smt power to the aircon wac relay..

so its getting more work tomorrow to try sort the issue out....

at the moment i can see a ed replacement comming on..lol

can you get a aftermarket ECU to control the VCT, so there is no need for the RPM switch?

So ya ditching the VCT or is the ported and polished head VCT? Been reading and alike have you ran it "stock" standard timing and ignition with the charger?

woo hoo ...
the car is running again...
still some issues though..
still running to rich at idle causing it to hunt.
its now still making what it made on the first tune still with wheel spin lol. but it now seems to be suffering belt slip and is only making 6 psi now..(belt has seemed to have stretched?
and still wont rev past 5000rpm in 4th gear.. :? (it just cuts out)
the strange thing is it will rev to 5700 rpm in 1st ,2nd, but not in 4th..

Could your ECU have anything to do with it cutting out in 4th? Would you have more luck with a J3 chip and EL ECU?
