Could your ECU have anything to do with it cutting out in 4th? Would you have more luck with a J3 chip and EL ECU?

im thinking maybe the piggyback ecu might have something to do with it?
as the has been on the dyno before the piggyback and it reved 4th out to 5700rpm..

i could either go the j3 chip or i might go a ems and try it as a stand alone ecu?

for the price id try a J3... @ 120 bucks with a tune or 180 with tuner box, it would be worth giving it a try i reckon.

worst comes to worst you sell it off again

well wasnt today a f**k up day!!!
went out to start my car this morning and chug chug pop pop stall..
this went on for about 15 mins then a nice backfire stopped everything....

from then the car had no spark at all
after doing a few checks it seemed the tfi module had died..
dished out $70 for a new tfi and spent a couple of hours removing the supercharger and bracket to get to the dizzy...
now you would think this would have fixed it?? WRONG!!
the coil had burnt out aswell. so another$60 later a new coil was fitted..
then hoorray it started.. but not without its dramas..
it now wouldnt idle again.. so i checked the tps and this one has died also..  .
so i replaced it with a second hand one and it was running ok but the stupid smt piggy back was still f**k it over.. requiring me to by pass the smt piece of crap.
so after removing these ba injectors for the 3rd time i went out to pick n payless and raped a couple of 2.6 magnas for there 24lb injectors went to my asian friends as a local spare parts shop 1 hour later the injectors were recoed.. :)
so once again the car is running reasonably ok..
next step is to find a better tuning option as the perfect power smt6 is a f**k hunk of junk that needs to be inserted into its creaters a** hole.
this f**k thing has killed 1 isc,2 tps switches,1 tfi module,1 coil, and had caused my sump to fill up with petrol...

so how was your day????? lol

anyway while i was ranting about the problems i forgot to mention i replaced the lower idler pulley for the supercharger with a larger ed aircon pulley to give it more wrap around and creat more belt tension hopefully stopping the belt slip..
this was the productive part of the day..

LOL thats f**k up mate, at least we all know to stay away from that product.

Why Magna injectors Troy, why not standerd EL ones if the BA ones are screwing arround? anyways I hope you find a better ECU setup.

If it wasn't so serious, it would be seriously pi$$-funny.....

My day was good, got some stuff painted, and did some braided hoses for my motor...

Chin up mate, it can only get better.

Cheers

well the std el ones flow 18lb,
the au ones flow 20lb.. both these injectors cant keep up under boost..
the ba ones are 29lb and are just to big for the std ecu..
the magna injectors are 24lb and will run of with the factory ecu and are not leaning out at the moment..

the thing that also sucks is i removed the rpm switch from the vct to find out it wasnt the problem...

I see what you mean, your using the VCT fuel rail? Is the pressure in the VCT fuel rail enough for the BA injectors?

yea im using the vct fuel rail and the vct fuel rail is the highest kpa compared to the e series ones.
its actually way to much fuel to use the ba injectors with the e series ecu..

well there is some good news on the horizon..
the smt piggyback will be getting exchanged for an ems stinger ecu.. :) ..
Attachment:
ems_4424.jpg

and the vct head will be staying for a while but to stop the doughy feeling down low from the non operational vct unit..
i did this...
Attachment:
DSC01437.JPG

i removed the vct cam and cam gear and fitted a au xr6 hp cam in its place.

on a side note running the vct unit disconected/no power=(no oil)has destroyed the internal oil seal in the vct unit causing a drop in oil pressure when the vct was connected.. :| ..
