Awesome.........

Have you got a lappy?? If you wanna come over and see how mine is wired you can. Then you will see how the coil and ignitor is connected, pretty straight-forward.........

Cheers

and the vct head will be staying for a while but to stop the doughy feeling down low from the non operational vct unit..
i did this...
Attachment:
DSC01437.JPG

i removed the vct cam and cam gear and fitted a au xr6 hp cam in its place.

on a side note running the vct unit disconected/no power=(no oil)has destroyed the internal oil seal in the vct unit causing a drop in oil pressure when the vct was connected.. :| ..

Dont say that mate I have not connected my VCT yet :( , I hpoe mine will be ok when I hook it up?

Josh

yea i didnt think it would do any harm either at first but i had a small issue when the vct was connected up after a few weeks of driving..the oil pressure was reading low but was ok over 2000rpm..once the vct was disconected the oil pressure would rise to the 3/4 mark.
well today i found out why..
the good news is its fairly easy to get to and is just an o ring..
ill post a pic of it tomorrow..

yea i have a laptop..
but the thing that makes it so much better is the smt will getting removed and the ems installed with only the tunning cost added...
so the tuner is doing his best to make things right and that makes me a happy chappy!! :D

alright!!!

the car is up and running again. woohooo..

after fitting an ems stinger ecu the car has gained 20rwkw.
the best it got was 194rwkw and 475 rwnm @ about 8 psi still with wheel spin which is pretty good i think.
we could have probably got more but didnt want to kill the engine..lol
there was an occassion when it made a peak of 600nm but it was spinning and trying leap off the dyno..
and i can tell you the au 4ltr can rev!..
on set up the engine reved to 6680rpm but i dont know how long the engine would last at those revs so the rev limiter has now been set to 5500rpm just to be safe.
the only thing that im having problems with is the isc. and as now the factory ecu does f**k all the airconditioning compressor is constantly on. :? i think it might have something to do with the factory ecu not triggering the aircon off??
so if i cant get the ems to control the isc i might just hook it up to a switch for cold start and run a relay to trigger the isc when the aircon is triggered..

Hey Troy.

Great news re power output.

Can the Factory ECU be used to run the ISC?

unfotunatly no..as the ecu doesnt receive any ignition or fuel signal,so the factory ecu probably thinks the engine is off..lol
i might look into it and see if the factory ecy can just be un plugged?
the other set back is there is no more trip comp either unless i hook it up to an ems output?
ive also added the wire to control the thermo fans aswell, i just havnt connected them to it yet...

Now wasn't that so much easier????hhmmmmmmmmmmm????....lol

Stinger will do the ISC, you will just have to have a fiddle with the settings to get right.....

Power is pretty good, same for the torque. When do i get to go for a spin????

Cheers

:D all in good time!

i need to learn how the program works so i can make minor adjustments..as joe set it up and tuned it.
but i kind of want to bump the idle up a bit as its idling at about 600rpm and almost stalls when the thermo fans kick in..i would really like it at about 800rpm.
so in time it will be ok..

I doubt it, it's only idling, no load. Have a look at the numbers for the rev range, and corresponding load points.....they are probly the same at that vacuum......
