today i have undone all the wires from the ems that were linked to the factory ecu as it was semi piggyback so i totally removed the factory ecu and now the ems is totally stand alone ..
as it was there was a light surging at cruising rpm and light throttle.
now that the ems is in full control the surging has dissapeared. :D
im now also running the thermo fans off the ems aswell.. :)

so i now have a el ghia ecu up for sale..

this the nest of wires..

not to take side's in this but i have been to CMS a few time's when your car was there and i has a sticky at just to see how it was going and i do say it was not like that it was neat and tidy....

what do you mean taking sides? why do you say that?
the wires were neat when the car was returned..
i just re done them to make the ecu stand alone..
that was just a pic of when i was pulling it apart..just showing my progress.
that pic has got nothing to do with cms..
i was getting it re tuned at cms soon.

im not sure wtf is going on in regards to that other thread?
it got nothing to do with me and its none of my buisness..

anyway before i get the car tuned again im thinking now the ecu is stand alone i can go coil pack now and ditch the dizzy set up??

this question is more for terroristghia or dazzle? or anyone who has used the ems..
do i need to run the ems coil igniter to run coil pack or can i just use ef/au coil pack??
ill put this question in a thread in ecu forum aswell..

You need the EMS Ignitor, was 140 odd from memory, as i had one fail, and now you need to get them with a loom, whereas they used to be less than 100 and came with a loom. Will you not also need cam and crank sensors( as your dissy is now supplying those through the PIP signal)

ok..
the engine still has the au cam and crank angle sensors attached so i just got to work the rest out..?

the other thing is im assuming i will need a 3 coil igniter? as i would be using ef or au coil pack and it looks like 3 coils? one coil for 2 cylinders?
does that make sense?

I was going to do the same, but i would have had to get another 2 MSD boxes.........mmmmm, no thanks, no room...lol
Pretty sure you will need a 3 coil ignitor, and be running wasted spark....

Same yourself the grief, and email Peter @ EMS, he'll help you out. If you want to just upgrade the ignition, then just get an MSD6A/L, and keep the dizzy, so much simpler. They usually go for a decent price on ebay. Shop around and you shouldn't pay the earth.

Cheers

Daz

this post is in regards to the s**t that was said by a few people telling joe at cms that i was the one that put the crap up in the true local thing that green machine posted..
after visiting joe at cms today this was brought to my attention..
now i assume people have said this because i wasnt happy with the perfect power piggyback ecu and the way the ems ecu was installed into my car.
yes i did say to a couple of people on a friday night i wasnt happy with the way it was connected.
honestly if you are paying $2000 for an ecu + installation you would expect to get all the options that were there to be connected.
the things i wasnt happy about were the fact that there was no 02 sensor connected!
ok fair enough as it needed a different 02 to operate closed loop mode..
then after hooking up my laptop to the ems i also found out that there was no air temp sensor connected? this sensor was there, it was just a matter of connecting 1 wire.
not to mention the muliple times i asked to have the bbm trigger conected. i was told if i wanted it connected to undo it all and do it myself, which i did!
so this would annoy most people as you would expect it to be connected the way its meant to..
i had spoken to joe after i found that there was no air temp connected and that i had connected the air temp sensor up myself which joe said has now thrown my tune out..
and as for eb fairmont commenting about the progress pics, saying that it wasnt like that at joes.
of course it wasnt! i untaped the wires to make the ems a standalone set up rather than a semi piggyback. these were just my progress pics and had nothing to do with cms, so you jumped to conclusions blowing this whole thing out of proportion!!!!!!!!!!!!

so to those who jumped to conclusions and told joe it was me that put that crap on true local,
get your facts straight before blaming me.. as was posted in the green machine thread someone used a pic of his car?
well i have no issues with green machine so why would i do that???
apparently joe was told that my car was also booked into rigoli to get a re tune?
well if that person read this thread properly you will know that i only got a quote (whats wrong with getting other prices)and i had previously arranged to get cms to re tune it.

so just to clarify that it wasnt me that posted that feedback on true local, and yes initally i wasnt happy with what was done but not enough to leave negative feedback

end rant!!!!

troy donna only said that cause after your pics went up and someone quoted 'dodgy install' she got affended that you didn't reply on the 'dodgy install bit' and corrected it! as myself and donna are close friends with joe, and she took it as a shot at his shop! what she said has nothing to do with my thread. All i said that it was someone that knows my address and me so it could only be someone from here and it proved it to be right. so i'm not saying it was you! only saying that it was someone from this website. ok!!

fair enough.
but someone had contacted joe in regards to what was in my thread and what was in the true local thing and either assumed or said it was me because of what was written here..

anyway like i said it wasnt me and whether it was you or donna or anyone alse that assumed it was me. im just making it clear that it has nothing to do me..
as you know it sucks when people use your name or your accused of something that you dont know anything about..
