naa no luck with the isc as yet..
i must have tried atleast 100 different configurations and i can only get it to work on full or off..

im looking for something from a different car that i might be able to modify to work...??

My idea using the Temp as the on off trigger didn't work?

BenJ

i havnt tried that as yet ben..
but that way will work..
but as you know ive been trying to get the isc working as a variable control.
and use one of the ems inputs to trigger the isc when aircon is on..
ill work something out sooner or later... :)

the wade 1521a is a boost cam i think?

something on the larger side like that like that would be tough with a raptor

actually i thought i would give the isc another go..before i make alternative measures..
spent about 2 hours this afternoon idling and playing around with the isc settings and at the moment it seems to be working!..
insead of using the isc position and vacuum adjustment i tried changing the base pwm settings about 100 times before i found what seems to be a sweet spot.. it seems to be working at around 81.73 Hz.
but ill wait untill cold start and see what happens..
if all goes well ill hook the aircon trigger into the input of the ems to bump up idle speed when the aircon is on..
fingers crossed.....

Pretty sure the 1521a is only available in a billet from wade iirc so you wont have to worry about a regrind if you go for that profile.

I agree with FordFairmont's comment earlier, a big cam like that with a bit of boost would be a handful

well where to start, from what we can tell, i ran the cam for a week with shimmed EA rockergear on it but they ticked, so i shimmed up the EL set i had and threw it in, didnt even start, in the end we worked out the cam siezed for some reason (wasnt removed from the car) which when the cam gear spun the cam key grinded out the end of the cam and snapped the gear, and seeing as tho the cam moved it tightened the cam bolt too tight and snapped it clean in half which now the cam didnt move it sent the pistons into the 3 open valves bending them bit time...

so in total it broke:
1 cam
1 rocker arm
1 cam gear (cog)
1 cam bolt (holds cam gear to cam)
3 valves
unknown damage to the bottom end.

the head MIGHT be saveable if i can find some new valves...

But just why didn't the cam move? "It seized for some reason" just doesn't really cut the mustard....

You're saying that the cam seized somehow in between you stopping the motor, replacing the EA cam gear with EL, and starting the motor again?

Uhm, Huggie dude... There must be something amiss with something obviously, but a cam seizing to the head whilst it's not in use? Huh?! Just how does one scientifically explain that? You sure there wasn't a small screwdriver, wrench or other obstruction left behind during install? Maybe the cam sprocket wasn't on properly which means the sprocket may spin (not turning cam) and result in similar situation to what you describe --- The cog would spin, burring off the lug... The bolt would snap, the cog would fry itself and all the valves would not be moving when the crank and pistons were.......

if i knew exactly what went on id tell you, but from what we can work out the cam didnt move... if the cam gear bolt was loose then it wouldnt have snapped... but anything is possible... who knows now.. its done
