He does good work troy. I havent spoken to him, but know some dudes who have used him. I was going to get in touch and see about an ICV for the terrorist, as i feel it will be too far from legit to pass. I also need his input into my engine number problem.

that looks good to me, very neat.
hopefully the engineer has some good news.
call me a pessimist, but I reckon the ECU is going to be a sticking point though.
The emissions side of things is the most difficult to get through down here, no doubt it's the same up there.

apparently anything other than STOCK ecu requires emissions testing, even a chip in a stock ecu need testing...

the charger being there is what necessitates the emissions testing, doesn't matter what ECU you have...
it's whether they will pass it with an ECU that can have the tune changed after the test that is the problem..

yep!! thats right!
its the fact that the indection has changed is the reason for emission test i assume..
having the factory ecu just makes the emission test possably easier..
and ive heard that it only has to meet the emission requirements of the year the car was manufactured?? but the factory ecu is back in the car..

It will be an IM240 test Troy which is pretty uncomplicated.
They drive the car on a dyno and run the throttle to match a little trace line on their screen.
There is no full throttle application. It is a very gentle test.
I have heard that a new cat converter wrapped in exhaust wrap to keep the heat in and make it nice and hot helps to pass a lot.
The emissions only have to meet either the year of the car or the year of the motor , which ever is newer. So you will have to meet AU emissions unfortunately.
You could be right if there is someway you can make the charger stop generating boost , its the fuel richening on boost that makes the readings go funky.
I know a lot of turbo guys when they go for an emmissions test dont have a boost guage fitted and take the spring out of the wastegate so it wont boost at all but appears to be all there and functioning.

I know I sound like a broken record but this would be a sure fire answer.
ford-parts-for-sale-f17/fs-aftermarket-lpg-injection-set-up-to-suit-ea-to-au-t81093.html

Take the rebate money and then sell off the stinger and it wound not cost a lot to sort out. Then enjoy the savings at the pump every day.

hmm sound nice but i wont buy from a person with 1 post thats from a different state..
and ive spent way to much already..
i also just found out that the lpg rebate has dropped down to $1750 and is going to drop $250 each year over the next 3 0r 4 years..
the worst part about it all is im starting to enjoy driving the s**t box eb ghia around more than the ed..lol
maybe im getting old????
ill wait and see what happens with the engineer.. if its going to be difficult or cost to much ill just keep driving it untill it gets defected, then ill get the defect cleared and i just sell or swap the ed  and buy something stock  ...

if the test is done this way with not much load i may just be ok?
as with a centrifugal supercharger and the bosch style blow off valve the bov doesnt start holing boost untill the manifold vac reaches 0 psi which is around 1/2 throttle under a fair load..
so if they dont load/labour the engine it wont make boost..

cant you just open the BOV?
on my old car you could jam it open quite easily, was an old HKS plumb-back style...

well things are looking ok for the engineer..
i had an engineer inspect the car yesterday and there are a few thing i need to fix though..

1 was the blowoff valve not being plumbed back properly.. (easy fix!!)
2 unfortunatly it failed the noise db test..it read 93db and it needs to be atleast 90db..(may need to add another resinator)
3 rear suspension 15mm to low..needs to be minimum 335 from centre hub to top of wheel arch.(spring seat spacers or new rear springs)
otherwise every thing else is fine..
and all the modifications to the car have been noted, eg; supercharger,extractors,3" exhaust (which needs to be made quieter),aftermarket gauges, sport steering wheel,18"wheels..

so now i just need to fix these 3 problems, get a weight certificate from a public weigh bridge.
and hopefully it will be all ok..

also got a different set of front and rear seats today..i swapped the full leather for leather/cloth ghia seats.
i did this as while the full leather looks great.. i felt there was just too much leather in my interior, and i wanted a bit of a change..
so now im looking for some matching cloth to do the door trim inserts aswell...
