well the au engine in my ea decided it had had enough.
and the body and paint is starting to get a bit ratty.
here is the link to the ea build.
so everything from the ea build will make its way into this build.

Hey Troyman, I think that its a real shame about the EA however the standard EA/EB/ED shape has really been growing on me more and more to the point where I think that if I get another one I will leave it as close to as ford intended.

Things I would change however would be:

The airbox, I'd fit up a BA airbox plus XR6T snorkel to the log manifold somehow.
The Three belt setup, toss that s**t over the shoulder and fit a serpentine setup straight off the bat.
Extractors + Zorst, nuff said.
XH ute ecu to take advantage of the log manifold setup on a EEC-V.
Kick Panels and Gearshifter knob, EF/EL NF/NL items are so much better looking that they just have to be included.

Just a little bit of an off topic brainstorm but yeah I feel the pain of spending so much time and effort (and money) and feeling of going backwards.

u gunna pull the old AU motor down and have a look inside to see if it ended up being a mechanical problem?

it is a shame but i dont really think im going backwards as this one is in top condition it has got 205,000 kms and i have a complete service history right up to 2006.
i will be painting and transfering the bodykit,xr front, suspension, interior, pretty much everything except for the block and head..
for now...

yea mate i will definatly be pulling the au engine down to see exactly what is wrong or if that was the problem...
and if its fixable it will eventually make its way into the ed..

Hey Troy

Well, that looks like a good clean shell mate.

And now you have cruise control.

Hope to have a good look at the car soon.

Cheers

Dam shame about the EA, but atleast the ED is a good base. Re shelling a car is still fun.

You were at a stalemate with the EA, so you had to make a choice either way. Chances are it will cost you lots more $$$ to get it sorted, particularly if the problem is engine, and that's the problem - you don't know where the problem lies.
Upgrade parts are cheap, be it ED or EF/EL.
And the good thing is you've got modding experience - so you can do the same mods this time with some hindsight, and improve on them if needed.
