Got this finished non turbo and did a couple hundred kms on it yesterday. Drives nice and heaps responsive, really happy with it. It seems like it will respond well with some boost. Made a 3" into a stock xr6t muffler, cold air intake and tuned it up on the old e85 in the tank after replacing the old worn out plugs that had a 1.4mm-1.6mm gap.

Goes decent for what it is 0-100 in 6.6-6.9 range off the brake and 14.9@97mph. Loves a rev and makes good power above 4000rpm, sadly it valve bounces hardcore over 6000rpm so rev limiter will need to be at 5800rpm. Having the bbm butterfly working made so much difference with them open it was doing 0-100 in 8s haha so slow off the mark. Also I tried just upping line pressure in the tune to max 255, certainly makes a bit of difference but still not exactly a crisp shift. Putting the s3 s4 delete in again has it chirping 2nd and got it from 7flats into the 6s 0-100. Few little things to sort out and we will see what it runs at the drags for a laugh.

Will the BA Engine bolt up to the EF Auto ? I may need a bit of technical info from you , I am going to do this with my spare car now.

The E Series and the AU auto will bolt up to the Barra Block.

Better to use the AU Bellousing as with the E series Bellhousing, the two bottom bolts won't line up.

You can still use the E seies bellhousing if you want, many have.

Yep swc is correct the ef box bolted up except the lower two bolts that usually go into the alloy mounts to the block. Easy conversion really basically bolts straight in.

Did you cut 3 prongs off the inlet cam like what au_barra did on AFF?
Or did it start, idle and run fine as it is?

You need a flywheel-but you can use a e - series flywheel on the barra engine which means you need to use a e - series clutch aswell, I'm using a EF T5 with a AU bellhousing on the barra but using a EF Xtreme clutch kit which includes both spigot and thrust bearing at $270 delivered on ebay, cheers, John.

He is using the BTR so he will require the flexplate.

E series Flexplate is fine. Check that the torque convertor fits into the rear of the crank fine. I had trouble fitting a EL torque convertor onto the AU Block, Was binding on the rear crank where it fits in.

So does this mean we can fit EF ECU's and coil pack to EA-ED resulting in a easy cheap way to fit a BA motor to the EA-ED?

Hope it works out please keep us informed

Na I didn't hook up the cam angle sensor or cut any prongs etc always ran fine disconnected in the sohc and runs fine without it in the dohc too. Yea you could run an ef ecu and loom to run the dohc works fine.

Found a cheap 3.89 gear set from a r31 auto wreck for this. Goes heaps better off the line now, dropped 0-100s to 6.1s and 90-140s to 5.9s. We will see what it does over the 1/4mile in this sundays street meet. Lucky I did a ratio change because both axles were prity twisted with the drivers being the worse over one spline of twist definitely about to snap again.

This went well at the drags with a best of 14.12@98mph on 2.07 60ft. Very happy with that for what it is, gets out of the hole nicely. Really consistent with runs from 14.1 to 14.4 and didn't miss a beat. Would go a 13.99 on a cold night I reckon as today was rather warm. Should go real well with a bit of boost which is the next step, using all the gear off my old project VT.
