Maybe you should build 2 1x thats na and one that's boosted

Its pretty impressive for such a simple set up I love it!

Today I wired in a new innovate wideband and got all data logging in and working again. Turns out the ba injectors were maxed out which is why it leaned to 14afr above 5000rpm. Added a 044 inline and a new fuel filter which didn't help so In went some 42s and retuned as rich as possible without breakup. Ended with an afr of 10 at WOT so that tune should come good with a few pound boost. Also picked up a $50 replacement trans as this one has always had no overrun and goes back to idle which just feels really weird driving it.

Got the cooler mounted, just using the baby 450x300 from the VT. Next up time to finish all the piping, going to do it in stainless this time round.

Got the exhaust done. 4inch into twin 2.5" using an xr6t xforce muffler from the VT with twin 3" tips. Got rid of the spare tyre well aswell for extra room, just going to run a 1.6mm plate over the boot section. Sits up nice and tight with good ground clearance, hopefully its not too loud.

Hey mate,

I just read thru the entire thread and wow, what a read. Your work is absolutely amazing, someone to definetly look up too haha,

I have a few questions, so as NA BA donk, your just running BA BBM, and EF TB? Running off EF ecu and wiring loom? Obviously no issues with running like that?

Also, what size is that bar you welded into the K frame? After you chopped the big a*** tube out haha,

Thanks mate, keen to hear a reply and hear any more progress on the beast haha, she's been thru a lot, lol

P.s, exhaust looks really nice!

Hey thanks mate it has been through a lot poor car haha. Yep correct running the ba bbm inlet manifold off the ef ecu/wiring loom with ef throttle body and an ef throttle cable. Works great like that no issues at all. I mainly chose to use the ef ecu as im familiar with tuning them and the ba ecu id need hp tuners which is just another cost.

The bar in the kframe is heavy 40mm rhs from memory with 10mm thick end caps

Had its first drive boosted yesterday!!! I love how responsive it is, perfect street car setup. Plumbed the gate back and bodged up some hot side piping until my stainless 2.5" gear comes in. Heat shielded the booster and throttle cable as well. Put the spool plate in until the valves are ready. This drops boost to 4psi on the 6psi spring. Still goes really well even on 4psi, has picked up a ton of power over n/a. Had a quick run 0-100 5.8secs 90-140 4.8secs and mph up to 106 over the 1/4.

I had worried the diff gears would make it s**t coming on boost in 1st. Turns out its heaps quick to boost, planting it off the line just spins up instantly well into 2nd. Need to go half throttle and early shift into 2nd to maintain some traction. Better tyres should fix that and improve 0-100s heaps. Exhaust sounds mint, dosnt drone at all and isn't too loud. Everything else worked as it should no problems popped up which is a first haha. Overall im really happy with it, hopefully there is a street meet soon id love to race it how it is now I reckon it would bang out 12.9s consistently.

Put a bit more spring in the gate. Solid 8psi now across the rev range. Definitely out of injector though with afrs getting out to 14 above 5500rpm, still goes really well for low boost lol. Valve springs still seem ok at this boost which is good. Plans are to add a touch more base fuel pressure to get afrs back to 12 and leave it like that for a while and enjoy driving it and hopefully it stays reliable. Anyway 90-140 down to 3.715 and 100-160 5.044. 80-100 for overtaking is 1.214 haha. Quick 0-100s are impossible too much wheel spin with these tyres, need some decent soft street tyres. Also gets full boost 8psi and pushes convertor out to about 3200rpm real quick, enough for a good 60ft I hope.

He's a soldier!! I love it! Haha,

That's rather quick for 8psi, should stay rather reliable I'm sure, be interesting to know what she'll run down the quarter,

Hey thanks guys, yea been a heap of hours go into this build over the years and a lot of trial and error but im loving how its turned out with the dohc motor, well worth doing. Im keen as mustard to hit the drags again and see what this will bust out with low boost. Im guessing wont be drags till next year unfortunately must restrain from winding it up to point of unreliability haha.

To tackle the leaning out I was seeing at high rpm I fitted a 60psi base pressure fuel reg, up from the standard 43psi. Retuned and afrs are now all happy again. Got the 90-140s down to 3.6secs and 80-100 0.9secs. Next modification will be fitting a spool valve for quick spool without any power loss.

Had a go mucking around getting trans shift points done to improve traction on the street. Set it up so there is no kick down 2-1 just loads up 2nd. Have the 1-2 shift set at 20kph aswell. Made heaps of difference much better traction. Spat out a few high 4 0-100s with a best of 4.86, im really surprised to see 4s on street tyres haha. Fuel economy is actually not bad too, about 400kms to a tank with a decent amount of thrashing included.

Not much to update with the car really. Drags keep getting postponed, hopefully the next planned streetmeet 22nd feb goes ahead, itching to race it how it is before more power added. Also we ended up buying a older dyno dynamics unit which im fair excited about, as it sits now its made a best of 243rwkw and peak power is at 5500rpm. Should make tuning and testing so much easier.
