Its not impossible to get an upgrade with eseries offset, quite easy really... most people simply arnt willing to pay the price.

Do you think these will fit over 17inch rims?

ef007 wrote: Do you think these will fit over 17inch rims? Yes and no. Really depends on the wheel. There is more than 1/2" clearance around the callipers with my Simmons FR18's. But I purchased a set of 17" Work Equips (a Japanese 3 piece rim of similar expense to our Simmons) and they foul. The rim has a ridge running inside it and this fouls on my calliper. I'm going to get the tyres peeled off and have a look at my options regarding having this machined down a few mms (as it only just fouls, I reckon if I push hard enough I could probably jam the rim on! Other option is attacking the 2 corners of the calliper with an angle grinder. But then I've just found someone selling a set of Work Meisters while I'm pretty keen on too, they've got some good looking dish on them. |

twr7cx - the engine transplant sounds great. I'll be really interested to hear your opinions on the VCT cam. Who makes it? I've read that many tried to make one without much luck.
The wagon should start to haul a little soon with the internal SC raptor mods + the new engine.

What was the benifit of doing this? extra boost, tuffer gears/belts, noise?
How much power are you making/ expecting?

If you do some searching there's an entire thread on this with all pictures of what I had done etc., but to give you a quick run down first thing I had done was higher quality bearings and stronger belt - so these can take more heat etc. and allow me to run a 2.5" pulley. Also had the 928 Motorsport CNC machined impellor fitted which give 20% more boost (so if previously 10 psi, it's not 12psi) - I had this done to compensate for the boost lost through my intercooler and 3" piping. Also I had a Raptor active air cooling setup fitted to help keep the the temperature lower. And finally I also purchased a 928 Motorsports Boost Limiter Valve so that I can ensure boost doesn't go above 9psi for any reason (which is what my current fuel system is set for).

Hmm... im running a 2.7" pulley on a setup I just bought which has some "issues" at the moment and i've been told to put the 2.9" back on. According to my calcs, a 2.7" is well within spec of what 928 rate their blowers to with the high performance rebuild. And you're running a 2.5 with no issues???
I'll be modifying my BOV spring as suggested by the pro's as they think this is the cause of my problems. What BOV are you running? Thanks for the answers, much appreciated as I try to make my setup (a lot) more reliable... Jason

Yes, I'm running a 2.5" pulley without any dramas (it's the only way that I can get 9psi boost in the inlet manifold). The 928 impeller is efficient up to 60,000rpm, compared to the standard cast Powerdyne impeller which is only efficient up to around 40,000rpm. The additional internal rpm of the blower isn't a big issue in my setup as the beefed up belt, high rated bearings and active air cooling set up mean that it can handle the heat.
