And I would love to get those rims but your right NCIILANE, that's a long way to go for a set of rims..

Went to the wreckers today to have a look at the LTD grille they told me they had... but turns out it was off an older LTD. they had the chrome wheel arch moulds too but they were also off an older model, and one was damaged. Back to searching again.. or does anyone on here know where there's one laying around?? :D

I have a complete DC LTD bonnet here that I just pulled from the tank, complete with grille, chrome strip and bonnet emblem! And if your patient, I may be able to deliver for free. I travel to Tamworth quite often

Mate, I'm keen as on this, let me know when your heading here and how much you want for it :D
I wouldn't worry too much about the bonnet though just the grille is what I'm after.

What brings you to Tamworth quite often? Not much happens here

PM sent with pic's of Grille, chrome strip and bonnet emblem

I am a contractor to TransGrid. They have 2 substations there + the regional centre on Goonoo Goonoo Rd. Will have to catch up for a beer at the West's Leagues club next time I'm in town

They do have their fair share of pokie revenue going on, my Trainee technician has trouble staying away from the bright flashing lights also. Food is good though and beer is ice cold....and that trippy ice mountain they have in the middle of the bar spins me out
It's the most convenient place to walk to for a feed as we always stay at the Country Capital Motel.

Yeah the food is awesome over there, my old girl used to work in the coffee shop there. That ice mountain thing is wierd  very unnecessary but cool addition to the club.

Damn Mick, that looks shiny as! I should have snapped up some more bits. I'm guessing that this LTD was pretty mint?

Not really mate! mechanically, it was rooted, interior has seen better days, especially the front leather seats.....looks like someone let a friggin big cat loose on them! Body was pretty straight though. It was just not financially viable to bring it back from the dead :(
Now my loss is everyone else's gain.....I think I have been pretty generous with pricing, consider it mate's rates

Hey there dude, Welcome to another sweet Lane. NA too, most here are NC. I see you've already had a look at my thread, but with your speakers in the front door, I have a few pics showing how it can be done (mines NA too with 4' holes)

I put mine on super lows, with heavy duty rears, and it is on the borderline of practical. MAYBE another 10mm, but be ready to scrape on everything, and probably bottom out if you have a car ful... And face it, with a cruiser like these, that's inevitable, wether it's mates or chicks ;-).

Enjoy the fairlane, and the world of cruising in a lounge chair :-).

I'm starting to have a few problems with the Fairlane... I'm not sure if this is normal but when I'm driving at any speed if i take my foot off the accelerator it will back off dramatically and lose a lot of speed as if i was braking..? I'm not sure if its just the gearbox or if this is normal... my handbrake is rooted too so i dunno if maybe my brakes are stuck on a bit... It doesn't seem as if they are but I'm not very mechanically minded.. Does anybody else with an NA have this problem?... also the 3.9 with the 3 speed burns fuel like a b**ch!! I'm easily using $20 on fuel a day and that's with minimal driving.. Is there anything i can do to improve economy? I really wanna keep this Fairlane but its getting on the verge of unaffordable.

On another note i got the LTD grille on and it looks awesome.. bit like a caddy :)

Sounds like your handbrake could be stuck on........would explain the dramatic pulling up and the excess fuel burn.
Good to hear you got the grille in one piece. I wrapped it in a heap of bubble wrap to protect it from dodgy couriers  Pic's now please

I would suggest 3.45's for better economy and .... well my daily is on gas too but I know I'd get smashed for recommending that! but I couldn't afford to run a daily driver on petrol.
