Yeah.. there's one very nice Stang with a 363 and KB - he build his own w2a intercooler. Maybe I'll keep my eyes open on corral

Ok, it's all official now. Sorting out the final details on the Dart 363 assembly, heads and of course the Kenne Bell blower

Do you still want the modifications done to your bonnet or are you waiting to see what fits?

It'll be a case of wait and see. The KB *should* fit, but who knows I'll let you know as soon as it lands ! Thanks

Unfortunately it will be so awesome that I need to upgrade the BTR. Looking at building a tougher BTR.. also considered the AODE or doing a T6060 conversion. C4 and Powerglide are out of the question, this is street car.

BTR's have been built for 9sec XR6Ts you should be able to get something suitable.

Yeah, it's doable for sure. Just looking at the most cost effective way to sort out the trans.
The AOD/E can be built tough, cheap. BTR needs a bit of money thrown at them - and I've seen some BTR builds are a bit hit and miss.

Once you open up a BTR it not hard to see why they are so inherently weak. The quality of the castings is pretty poor on some of the parts. Wouldn't take a lot to to machine up some better pistons and fit some Kevlar bands and clutch packs. Throw in a few shot peened parts and do some deburing and it would be interesting to see how strong it would be. Have heard of some cnc valve bodies kicking around too. An EF box is best for parts as from then on the cost cutting took over.

What exactly fails in them?, ive only had the reverse and 1st gear band fail.

Yeah, I'd be interested to see what happens to one when it's pushed well past its limits. Do they simply implode?!
Now got it all narrowed down to a BTR, assuming the builder can assure me it will be strong enough. Failing that, the T56 Magnum looks good - but its damn expensive. Anyway, engine has been ordered now from Keith Craft in the US. Should be finished building in 3-4 weeks.

Also found an engineer who is happy to sign off on the project. Just requires the IM240 emissions test, should be interesting.

Exciting times Waggin. And I thought that my big girl went well! Wow!
Good luck with the emissions side. Stu

Yeah, it should go alright. Not looking for big power figures, but no doubt they will be big in any case.
Anyone have any guesses what I might drag out of the 363 with 15 pounds of boost?
