I faile dthe first test, but passed the second. I failed the first test due to time at idle, Basically my idle is very dirty, but the second test was straight after the first and it flew threw.

Be aware that the build date on the car affects the results. If mine was a 97 modle i would have failed outright, but being a 96 i had "easier" targets to meet.

Ah yeah, I'm in the next category 97-2003

THC 0.26
NOx 0.63
CO 2.1

Yours would've been;
THC 0.93
NOx 1.93
CO 9.3

Looks fine - I think you're mistaking it for weight reduction.

From all accounts the AU IRS diff is pretty tough. If you break it, at least being an AU you have the relatively easy conversion to go live axle 9".

You still got that spare IRS LSD centre I sold you a few years ago? I may be interested in taking it back off your hands for the same price you paid. Be nice to have a just in case spare... if your not going to use it that is..

PM Me.

Yeah? Tell me more.. :)

I'm guessing there's no way to keep IRS and go 9" eh?

Yeah, it's sitting in the carpark with a notice on it (along with my LPG tank) saying that its in breach of strata rules being left on common property. The notice has been keeping it clean of dust for 3-4 months :)

a broken gearbox...

Ridiculous amounts of tyre smoke.

Your gonna need to run semis just to get some power down before they turn to smoke

AU's came out with live axle diffs - so it should be reasonably easy to convert. Never had to do it myself, but not pushing the limits like you will be. IRS to live has been done though.

9" and IRS - never seen it, but that does not mean it is not possible! We are always looking for someone else to do the hard work for us! Make it so Waggin!

Ah, well if its meant to be, it's meant to be - so lets see if I have enough power to rip out the entire IRS assembly before I go live axle.

Blown Modular in an AU in WA that is now 1000+rwhp survived quite well for some time with the standard AU IRS rear end. Pretty sure it was not 1000+ when it had the IRS, but it did survive some pretty high numbers and some very rough treatment. You might be surprised how well the AU a** end will hold up.

Do you have an idea of the numbers that the new combo might run? Wishful or not?

Stu
