Whats going on matey? All teh old crew is not on here anymore - Walker, noisy, bowsaw Mate - Awesome build - From ground up, much respect as i know it couldnt do it! Its come up awesome and threads like this make it look easy! Much Kudos to your wife for getting into it and doing the work! Also i like how you helped consume many of the payments you made!

Hey Nicko! Yeah it's been a while. Sorta got the s**t on about a few things and decided to lay low for a while. I noticed that most of the old crew is gone but oh well....out with the old in with the new......as far as being in prison....ummmmm.....well....I guess I just didn't get caught
I'll have to post some more pics of this thing now cos I don't care who you are and what sort of vehicle you like this thing looks ultra tough now. Keep an eye out cos I will get some pics today or tomorrow.

Rollbar was an absolute nightmare to fit . Had to start with a ute bar that wouldn't bolt up because of the cab extension. First had to cut the bars off that run to the back of the tray. This was because they would normally sit on the wheel arches in the tub so they were too short. After this I had to shorten the front bar to compensate for the cab extension. It then occured to me that I couldn't mount this on the cab as when the rear bars were welded back on this would tie the tray and cab together, eventually causing the cab to crack. So the front bar is actually mounted on a piece of 10mm plate, with a 10mm spacer under it which is then bolted to the front of the tray. This let me mount the bar closer to the back window. The rear bars were then welded back on at a lower point and at a different angle because the tray is wider than the tub. The rear bars actually bolt on from underneath through the centre of the tube eliminating any plates on the top of the tray. Told you it was a two day nightmare to get right (and I haven't finished yet. Still have to weld a plate across the top to mount spotlights on. Also am toying with the idea of mounting an integral led brake light too).

Bullbar sourced and fitted. Will remove it later and "customize" it
Mudflaps are on and were a pretty good choice too Had the front suspension lifted about an inch and a half as it was just too damn low, rode like a pig and was cutting front tyres on the guards. I aquired a complete WB statesman the other day in almost perfect nick except it had thrown a couple of legs and split a bore. It was also a pov pack Statesman: no turbo trans (so the block is a boat anchor) no LSD, No power windows, No cruise and No alloys. Imagine buying a Fairlane like that!!!!!!!! Have already sold some parts off and had a phone call from a bloke tonight who wants to buy the rest of the car for two thirds of what I paid for it. What I took before he takes it: Headlights, front chrome trim, bumper and gutter moulds. Power steering and rest of air con Dash, steering column and seats. These were in heaps better nick than the ones in the ute. Undercarpet soundproofing, centre console (for use later ) Also keeping the front doors as they are rust free and dead straight whereas the doors currently fitted are not that good. To add to that we are looking to respray the whole thing again in Summer as the paint is too thin (paint shop didn't supply enough paint. They decided that even though I ordered 4 litres I was "only" painting a tonner so should only need two. By the time it was freighted to me it was too late ) Anyway will post pics of ute tomorrow night if I get time......(I know Revcore is hanging out for these )

Photos aren't real good but you get the idea...and yeah I know it's dirty but there ain't a lot of point washing it at the moment cos I'm using it while my ute is being "renovated"

Thanks Paul. The dear old dog (the XH) hasn't moved, but I have sourced all the parts except for the 'box that I needed and am hoping to pick them up this weekend....but I just "acquired" another stumbling block. I'll tell you about this later , but it was a deal that was too good to pass up, and when I told the missus I was bringing it home, her response was" WHere the hell are you going to park another bloody car?" or words to that effect
