You do have a seperate TCM module, that hides up under the dash iirc. You would need to identify the wires at the TCM plug that do the same function as the wires at the ecu end on the later car's.

Do you have a wiring diagram of your EB series 1? If you have a look at the pin out on the TCM, it should have the same named pins are the pins for the ecu on the later cars.

My manual is for EB2 - ED I6 only, so i don't have a diagram either. But a mate has the EA-ED all on CD rom, i will ask him for a copy & see if it has a wiring diagram to help you out.

Cheers

Are you going to use the bbm manifold or the log manifold? I think you need to change all the accessories, inc the a/c pump.

You go thru belts that often? I've only changed my belts a couple of times in 6 years, only broken one alternator belt & the current a/c belt has broken 2 ribs off it (probably due to the other belt breaking & causing damage to the a/c belt), so it needs to be swapped. I just have to get around to doing it.

Cheers

In my experience change the lot, allow for 2 new pulleys for the idler, and change the hoses as well. The water pump will need replacing. You do not need to replace the heater hose from the water pump, but you do need to modify the outlet from the thermostat to where it meets the hose. Its all pretty simple. The harders part is sorting the vacuum lines and sourcing a BBM switch.

so what do i have to change to run the log manifold?

To run the log manifold with the Serpentine belt conversion you need to find an XH belt tensioner. It is different to the std belt tensioner as it allows the belt to clear the log manifold throttle body.

Alternatively, you can use the factory EF-EL a/c pump spacers, cut them in half, and using longer bolts move the a/c pump away from the engine, and source a longer serpentine belt to suite.

Cheers

can't i just buy a XH tensioner?

and then do i use the EF/L accessories with no modification?

the eb power steer hose fits straight into the ef pump, if your alternator is the mitsubishi type the plug will be the same,..

I have a ef 110amp alternator in my EB, i didn't have to change the plug that goes into the alternator, as i had a mitsubishi type to start with.

Power steer lines - i thought they were the same ea thru to el?

Cheers
