The connectors in the sockets at the ends of the fuseable links might be corroded, need some terminal cleaner to clean them out. Otherwise, your earth cables, are they factory or upgraded to something bigger? You might need to upgrade the one that runs from the battery to the engine bracket, that usually bols onto the inner rail under the battery as well.
Rear demister - oh yeah, i know what they are, I've never been able to use mine in my ghia, it's always been broken. I really should repair it one day real soon lol. You could give it a shot, adding in an extra temporary earth from the battery to the body, say rub the paint back under the bolt for the radiator bottle & mount the temp earth there. Use some 4 gauge cable, and then give the car a test and see what happens. You might solve the issue, or you might still have issues, and then I'd be considering upgrading to an EF 110amp alternator. You could either do the serp belt conversion to fit it or modify the alternator, adding a thread to the top bolt hole, then grind the alternator case & the bracket so it fits...... Cheers ToranaGuy

thats my secret lol.
i had to remove the gas mixer today due to the throttle body to mixer hose splitting. so i ratted the EA intake tube off the SVO and put the 300kpa fuel pressure reg off the XR6 intake. far out it flies. it's ridiculous the difference it made. but it'll be all over when i put the mixer back on lol

and in saying that i am thinking i want a gas ring to suit and EA-ED Multipoint. but then seeings as i have a basic converter and complex mixer i'd have to change to a complex converter.
so if anyone has one lying around..............

For such an easy upgrade, the ea hose & the 300kpa reg does make a big difference. You have the Xh snorkel don't you?
Cheers ToranaGuy

well. lesson learnt.
i put the 300kpa fuel pressure regulator off a EB XR6 on yesterday. drove it for about 30mins. went good. this morning, started it 15minutes before i left to warm the heater up. backed out, put it in drive and it was in limp home mode. third gear, locked converter. pulled up. cycled the key. still the same. so i drove the ten kms to work (so slow!) just up from my work (Holden) is a Ford dealership. asked them to check for DTC's. they didnt know how. Useless pricks Did a old school EB series one flashing leds DTC check at lunch (found out how off an auto elec) and the oxygen sensor code come up. and one of the parametres for it throwing that code was too high of fuel pressure. SOOOOO, i didn't think changing to a XR reg would do that but i guess it does. limped it home, changed it back and it's currently sitting with the battery disconnected to clear the codes. i'll let you know how it goes. you learn by your mistakes ay

after having the battery disconnected for two hours and changing back to the original pressure regulator it was fine. drove 10kms to the missus's work and back. parked it. about half an hour later went to go to my old mans joint, was back in limp home mode. so i cleaned up body and engine earths, changed ECU, and clean the fusible links and power cables. still in limp home mode.
went out to the missus' work again. sat for 15 mins. limp home mode gone! and it drove fine! now today when i did a DTC check i got 12 and 42 12 - ECT sensor out of range, only came up once them disappeared. it's only 6 months old 42 - oxygen sensor value to high or something along those lines, i was told a parameter for that to be set is running to rich, to high fuel pressure. thats why i changed the regulator back. i'll see how it goes tomorrow

You probably need the Xr6 ecu which has revised ignition timing & injector pulse widths to deal with the extra fuel pressure.
I should do a scan on my car for codes, but i think the LPG system might cause issues getting correct codes, as it intercepts the sensors. Cheers ToranaGuy

an XR6 ECU won't run in my car for some reason. i'm guessing the seperate TCM has something to do with it

A series 2 Xr6 ecu wouldn't, wiring loom differs a lot.
Maybe a J3 chip with Xr6 program on it then? Cheers ToranaGuy

I am running an EL Ghia ECU in my EB1.
To get it to work, we removed the TCM and extended the wires to the ECU. The only wires I added to the EB ECU plug were the Auto temp and Auto gear position wires I think. Cheers BenJ
