Nice dude. Do you have some extractors to go onto the new engine? They really liven the old I6 up.
Cheers ToranaGuy

Welsh plugs are a pita, that's for sure. I still have to change a couple of mine over. Broken engine mount, i wonder why, old & shagged or have you replaced them before?
Cheers ToranaGuy

thats why all welsh plugs have been changed while the engine was out.
i'm guessing the engine mounts were old and shagged. i've never changed them. my auto is playing up now. dammit. hence my other thread in the driveline forum

found the auto problem. the auto plug for the TPS disappears into the loom then comes out again about halfway up the manifold so there was a random plug. and it's best friend connector was tucked up behind the gas converter (helps when i had a chance to get it on the hoist) plugged it in and hey presto the car changes gears normally!

I've had that happen before, and I'm sure others have too.

so just had to change my alternator and power steering pump!
in the cold weather i usually go out and start my car so it warms up (so the heater is warm too). this morning i did exactly that and come out ten minutes later and the battery light is on and the engine bay is smoking! i turned it off, had a look and the alternator stator was glowing red hot. it turns out the p/steer pump had leaked it's entire reservoir full of fluid onto the alternator! so had to get a lift to work, go to Fraud and buy the high pressure line 'o'ring and change it when i got home. hopefully all good now
