Hey everyone, today a mate and I went halves in a $300 XC falcon. No interior but a running 4.1L and C4 auto.

The thing that attracted us was how clean the body was. It is relatively straight, but hardly any rust at all. Surface rust here and there, but nothing huge.

The plan is:

make custom and subtle door card cut outs and get a chick we know to upholster them, as well as any seats we can find (matching of course) in leather, have the interior pretty minimal.

Fix up the surface rust and probably just do a matt black rattle can job for now

Smash the honeycomb out of the cat, maybe buy a bigger exhaust and extractors

Give the engine a good service, tinker with detailing the engine bay, probably paint the rocker cover etc.

cut the springs

Replace windows

Skids.

When we have money, the plan is:

Restore original interior

Put a cleveland in it

proper paint job

Skids/sell/keep/enter into shows maybe?

I'm just looking forward to having another car to work on :D

I'll put some pics up when it gets here on the 13th, and update this thread as it goes on. Undoubtedly we are going to need parts, so I'll be hitting up ebay and the FS section here a fair bit.

It needs a fuel tank, tossing up between buying a fuel cell off ebay, or putting an EA tank I have in it. Any idea how hard it would be to put an EA tank in it?

Also, does anyone have any idea how hard it would be to register this? Obviously cut springs and a decat wouldn't be on the cards if we decide to do a proper restoration.

Pretty stoked for $175 each ($50 for delivery).

xd-xf seats bolt straight in, no cats on xc's, fuel tank drops into a big hole in the boot floor so original or ea-el wagon tank may work.
