ill let you know when.

this has nothing to do with my car but im bloody bored tonight so what do you do when you get bored you fiddle with things so i ended up lowering my chevelle ss model car :P

this actually had springs in it so i un screwed the front and removed the springs then put it back together but the rear couldnt be done the same so i pushed the back wheels up as far as they would go and shoved the front springs under neath so they are an able to come back down.....if that makes sense  things we do when boredome strikes

i also noticed the sump gaskett has started to leak so ill keep an eye on it.

well where to begin :P i purchased lukes (lukey1990) old eb for $200 and today with the help of luke we pulled it apart we were going to pull the auto out in my mates pit but it smelt pretty bad and not to mention all the s**t in there we kept tripping over  so we dropped the tailshaft and undone the trans cross member then rolled it out the shed removed intake and exhaust manifolds radiator then cut the radiator support panel off  pulled the motor and auto through and loaded it onto the back of the xg. tomorrow we will go back out and get the 6 gauge cluster and ecu and chuck some more sand on the little bit of trans fluid we spilt (few litres  ) also get the crane and tools that we left there over night. i will also get a few quick photos of the eb and post up tomorrow aswell as the new bits i got off the eb. plans: clean up the motor (270,000) and drop it into the ute and strip my old motor down wich is ready for retirement :P (400,000+) and i will slowly rebuild it later on next year. put the trans up in the back shed for when this one calls it quits ecu will be spare and ill be putting in the 6 gauge cluster and getting rid of the tacho.

cheers.

The engine looks a lot better without the ps fluid all over it and some paint :p

You should paint the rocker cover in your ute too.

I got your message about the AU console, I'll probably be in the area on Tuesday next week if you want to see what it looks like in your XG?

Also do you want to help me pull the engine and maybe box and stuff out of the XD? :D

ok rego runs out next week (1st sep) now ill be paying the rego BUT its snuck up on me so i dont have the cash available at the moment so ive come up with a plan its a fair bit of work, its nothing major but its those little annoying things that if fixed will make the car alot better.

so my list is.

swap motors.
fix drivers door....will not close at times im going to grab the latch and striker out of the eb wreck.
fix tail gate only one side of the open/closing mechanism works and its very stiff.
fix the spare tyre hatch door have to use pliers to open it (no lock has wire there).
fix the bit of rust in the engine bay.
fix the surface rust along the top of the tray.
tidy up the storage unit door i made up in the tray.
fix the little bits of surface rust inside the tray.
repair dash trim the ute never had and paint it thanks to lukey1990 for giving me the trim.
look into a au console or grafting a ef and a eb one together. (i have a ef and a eb one) again thanks to lukey1990 for the ef console.

thats probably it i hope  looks like a long list but they should only be simple fixes :P also hoping to have a daily by the end of this year early next so the first few months will see the major things done so the ute can then be driven once regos paid and i will continue to do the not so major ones.

Thanks :D

Also I noticed you said thanks to me for the EF console, you gave it to me in the first place, so it is rightfully yours :p

That's a decent work list, I'm not sure if the XG had the old style lock barrel for the spare wheel hatch of the smartlock style. But if it had a smartlock barrel or it's compatible then I still have the one from the drivers door on the EB that I never got around to putting back in.

I've never opened one of those hatches so I have no idea of how the locking works.
