few slight bubbles but for the grand total of $0 im not complaining. it is quite dark tho

also i have 2 weeks at boyer just after christmas wich will see a good start on whats planned for the ute now ive decided it looks nice time to make it go a little better.

so ill possibly be buying a rebuilt exchange short motor through my brother in law for around the $1500 mark and get my head done with some minor port work and a shave and ill also grab a wade 1636 for it along with the auto sitting under a tarp serviced it should go fairly well.

the ute should be done by the weekend maybe....only thing holding me up is a amp wiring kit but other than that nothing else is needed.

so got a new head unit today was going to grab a sony for $149 but super cheap has sold out :( so i went to repco and got a clarion for $129 :P so while this should be a good update its not few minutes with the stereo turned up a little in the driveway and one of the fusions have died (running off the amp) :x and when i purchased them i was told theres no return as they were on sale wich is bloody annoying but what can you do.

either way amps all set up now so later on if i fell like it ill grab new speakers (not fusion) still sounds alright.

now need to focus on the engine its gutless and no idea why it burns oil abit but it shouldnt be this slow im going to get the timing looked at may be able to tweak it abit, my mums old el with 370,000+ and head gasket issues went harder then this

just chucked a couple of turbo blades on it in a weird way they kind of suit it, also got some exhaust clamps and put the tail pipe back on today (was quite loud before) now its all settled down it sounds pretty good and obviously not rediculously loud :P

Image

also i am pretty dissapointed a friend of ours bought my grandmas old bluebird approximately 3 weeks ago this car had nothing wrong with it when we sold it apart from being a little slow, i went there on monday to get the turbo blades off the eb to find the autos is playing up and theres a knock in the motor, Today i go there to tell him scrap that is picking up the eb shell on friday and it now blows a mountain of smoke  not very happy it was a good little car. end rant

I was speaking to my brother inlaw tonight i mentioned that the ute is abit hard to start at times he said it could be a leaky injector so when i got home i put in my spare injectors, where the injector goes into the manifold was full of grease/dirt so i cleaned it out and gave it a spray with some throttle body and carbie cleaner around the injector port and with my finger and a rag gave it a wipe and reassembled it. It seemed to start easier wich could be a good sign i guess also tomorrow we are going to advance the timing so hopefully it goes abit better. :P

so we advanced the timing by about 10 degrees distributor needs to be pulled out and moved to allow more but all i can say is wow it certainly accelerates alot faster now. i may have a play with it over the weekend but i may leave it as i dont have a timing light :(

also hopefully by january i should have a daily driver wich will then see body work start for a full reaspray, colours are (not all i have to choose :P )

keep it white
silver
shockwave
hot chilli red
and this nice dark green i have seen it was on a xf with the number plates mpresv (impressive) cant remember it exactly.

After some thinking i have decided at the start of next year this will be on the market i will be upgrading to an au and not doing much to it (exhaust, lowering, wheels).

i will post up photos i will be fixing the front bar and respraying the tray also if anyone is keen on my ute it comes with

hotwires, magnums, the 15 inch alloys (all wheels picured in this thread) spare BTR, 3 spare wheels (2 turbo blades, 1 stockie) and the original cluster and steering wheel.

looking for offers around $5,000

todays progress so far

got it all sanded and light coat of primer
Image
Image
my attempt with fibre glass a few months back for the indicator holes failed was first time using fiber glass.....so didnt bother filling them in again
Image
started getting pretty windy so put it back in the shed for some high build spray putty
Image
first light coat
Image
after a few more
Image

waiting for it to dry some more then ill give it a sand and final priming then it will be ready for paint. As you can also see grill is primed and so are the mirrors all thats left now is to sand the tray and prime that.

worked yesterday had another go at it today drivers side of the bumpers pretty messed up full of fiber glass and body filler  so basically ive been working on the one section for majority of the afternoon it still needs more work.

so i had a go at it and put some matt black over it to show the imperfections
Image
sanded it back and had a look fixed up what i could see.
Image
i figured the matt black would be hiding some things so i had some old primer on the shelf and used that and well the circles in black texta show where it needs work
Image

so tomorrow i will be in the shed at 9 and hopefully after a few hours the bumper will be spot on ill have to get some xf indicators to fit into the bumper to fill the holes. Once the bumper is done i then have to sand the tray still yes the garage has dust every where :P
