the ECUs are different between Xg and EL, different pin setup/plug. you could use EL ecu to run everything youl just have to swap in an EL loom aswell

The XG used the EB ECU, and I've heard of a fair few people plugging and playing the EL ECU. I know that EF computers have a higher pin count and are also coil pack based too. The EL only really has a BBM, thermos, knock sensor and maybe a couple of other things over an EECIV computer. Other than those things the EECV ECUs are pretty much controlling the same engine, they would have some differences in fuel etc being as the engine did change a little bit. ecu-fuel-system-eec-f21/el-ecu-in-eb-auto-problems-t74139.html Once you get past the first EL ECU he had being defective you can see that the EL computer ran the engine fine, he did say that it wasn't controlling the auto properly, but the BTRs are all the same through the E series. Also BenJ commented further down the page and said that he chucked an EL ECU into his old EB and it ran everything just fine. And also this guy: xfpaul wrote: el ecu in my nc2 fairlane worked great, basicly ed should work with a eb2 same box, has this only played up since the ecu changes ,maybe a pin prob at the conector or selector /inhibitor switch prob the only codes sholud be for the fans and the bbm , i put in the soliniod for the bbm under dash just to keep the ecu happy and had all the fan wiring etc from a el, no more codes But there were some people who couldn't get things going properly..

Commodore on take off, but you should start to reel the commo in....

wow you got that pretty much rite
The VT ended up with a 1 meter head start but it was neck and neck till it (XG) shifted into 2nd, then we pulled away pretty quick, I tried putting it into 3rd wile doing 100ks to work out the diff ratio, apparently it has a 2.75 in it?, could anyone tell me what gains i would get from putting a 3.75 or 4.11 in there, just based on personal experience like fuel use, acceleration, top speed and such |

had a look the other day, no tag there, and is it correct that doing 100 in 3rd, and the revs show the ratio?
