Ok i'm going to find the limiter tomrow :P, umm i have a question, say i got a mild performance cam and extractors, what would be the best sized diff for an auto for mainly city driving but still driving on country roads?

seeing as ive had one i found the wade 1636 to be a pretty good cam.

as for diff maybe go the same as XR's 3.45 or one up 3.7's.

cheers, i was originaly thinking of getting a 4.11 but with a cam i think it would be too crazy :P

might go 3.7

yea it would launch of the line pretty damn fast tho :P but it would also blaze the tyres pretty damn well off the line to :D how many k's has your motor done?

umm roughly 230k, what would the main diferances be between 3.7 and 4.1?

not to bad then my utes got 390k on it, it will probably explode if i put a cam in it :P

4.11's will bring 1st down to about 60 id say 3.7's would be around 70ish in first as for what revs it would be doing at 100 on the high way i am unsure as ive never owned a car with those ratios.

well i'm not too concerned about fuel as i will be keeping this then getting a new car for daily driving

I think 3.7 would do fine, i mean anything higher is better than what i have :P

The gear ratios. :lol:

Personally for a daily car I wouldn't consider 4.11s. Especially if you do a bit of high speed driving (at 110 or whatever the limit is in your state, you would use way too much fuel.

Maybe hunt up an XR diff, 3.45 isn't a bad compromise ratio and it'll be an LSD 8-)

me? all depends but im lucky to get 350 to a tank, and depends where i go, my ute really drinks the fuel up hills for some distance like mt wellington or southern outlet.

whats yours like on fuel?

my area's pretty much all one level lol, i've done about 400-500 ks on 3/4 of a tank

wow thats not bad at all i try to take it easy in the ute to try and save as much fuel possible 8-) id hate to see how it goes if i flogged the guts out of it :P
