Stock roller short I picked up for it...
Attachment: F4short.JPG Attachment: F4short.JPG[[attachment=0] /attachment]F4top.jpg Two BTR's I had beefed up. The 95 went into the XH 5.0 ute. The 97 will go into the van... Attachment: 95&97LE.jpg

Rack clearance to stock 5.8 pan...no wuckers.
Attachment: 5.8rack.jpg I'll start by using the same setup I used on the 351 Range Rover. It's an adapter from BC Bronco's to allow a stock HO upper to be used on the stock truck 5.8 lower....certainly Lo-Po but it fits under bonnet and will get it through rego... As you can see I'm using all AU front dress and EECV to run both engine and trans together. You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post. |

Stock headers will work but there's only 5mm clearance to the steering shaft. Obviously I'll be making headers.

XH is better than E-series for firewall clearance...

Just as I found before with a 351 conversion of an EB....sump clearance with a winged sump will require mods to the wings. Stock '69 351 pan shown.
Attachment: 5.8panKmember.jpg Here was the best option I could find for a sump. It's an ASR XR-F job which I will modify. Competition engines had em for $279. I'll have to slice the angled wings to make the box square and therefore clear the K-member. Attachment: 5.8ASR.jpg Attachment: 5.8ASRblock.jpg I will trim this dipstick boss from the stock 5.0 pan down and TIG weld into the side.. Attachment: 5.8ASRdipBoss.jpg

Attachment: InvVsAU5.0.jpg Having done some 5.8 crank encoders before we wanted to do one for a higher performance application that would be bolt on. With that in mind the Innovators West Balancer was used. It is known to actually release more power from an engine, has a bolt on counterweight and it beautifully made and rebuildable...Attachment: Inv28oz.jpg the counterweight provided and area where we could bolt the encoder wheel on... Attachment: InvW5.8.jpg This '94-5 5.0 Mustang type is correct for the 5.8 engine.. Attachment: InvVsStk.jpg and here you can see that when the encoder wheel is fitted it will be in the correct alignment postion.. Attachment: InvVsAU5.0.jpg Comparison of all three... Attachment: BalComparo.jpg Done... Attachment: Inv5.8EncSide.jpg Attachment: Inv5.8EncBot.jpg
