I bought this ute about 6 months ago as an unfinished project. I did all the work myself except I paid a guy to weld the plate in the sump. Still need to gas the A/C but the hoses are joined & crimped.
Specs:
98 XHII Longreach ute, bench seat column shift
BA MKII 4.0L DOHC '04, modified sump
BF 4 speed auto, std converter, XH extension housing, mount & speedo drive, selector shaft flipped around, threads tapped into bellhousing for columnshift mounting bracket
BA ECU running stand alone with a custom loom, pats disabled with HP Tuner, wired into XH loom using all XH relays
STD Brakes, wheels & suspension
BA High pressure power steering pump hose & pump
BA alternator (plugs straight in)
BA engine mounts & brackets
2.5" lukey exhaust, cat modified for 2.5" outlet, 15" long hotdog on tailpipe
Autometer tacho adapter

This conversion is 100% street legal. I have a mod plate fitted for LA1 & LB1. Noise tested at 89dB.

Thats a real nice XH. The DOHC conversion looks so good you'd think it came from the factory like that.

I agree, it looks just right to be sitting in the XH. A good conversion and is great to see it done so well.
