'D' for drag race mode!!

Yeah gotta figure out how to make it go out. Or i'll pull the bulb/LED. I'm sure one of the technicial guru's on here will know exactly how to extinguish it!!

I dont think you'll just extinguish it - its decoded from the data stream coming from the ECU

Best answer is going to be to disable I think - perhaps just a knife-cut to the tracks for the indicators?

Or give the cluster to me...

LOL!!

Yeah, honestly, it doesn't concern me atm. I have WAY bigger things to worry about before a little green 'D' light on the dash!!

They are surface mount LEDs. From memory, I placed in some black paper, with some translucent clear plastic over the top - hides the letters altogether.
The other parts I redesigned the captions - high tech, photocopied them from a user handbook, placed them on an A4 sheet as a template, photocopied them on overhead projector clear sheets.

Cut and taped them 3 sheets to make the black opaque.
In the photo I've added ALARM, LPG and Brake Lt s/w fail caption.
The last one takes place of the old SLS caption - you will need to cut/redirect tracks, and add a 180 resistor to stop it beeping continously.

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

^^^ That is AWESOME ^^^

Very nice. What is SLS? You think I'll have errors/flashing lights/noises due to me deleting the ABS and deleting cornering lamps?

Don't these clusters recognise if there's a blown light due to current draw or something?

Nah, only the Airbag light if it's blown.
The other feature you're thinking of is bulb out - it does work well.

The SLS in my case was only because I had to disconnect the light connections from the onboard circuitry.

Ok, fair enough.

Cool. So how does the bulb out work? Is it pre-programmed from fatory to have a threshold of how much current should be being drawn?

How does it know...? Add a trailer on etc? ...delete lights (like I have) :?

The cluster is inline on the brakelight and taillight ccts. The cluster circuitry monitors current flows. There is a max - ford manual does say.

As above - read Vic's doco, does mention about this.

Got most of the interior back in today. Had to make new holes in the carpet for the seats. The carpet probably needs replacing due to the size being off now with the NL centre console....it’ll do for now. I LOVE it!! :)

Photos are a bit dodgy, but you get the idea. Manage to get my hands on an AU fairlane handbrake. I’m annoyed it’s in very average condition, and the seller chose not to disclose that. Will have to keep an eye out for another…
