If he uses a Jack from the boot of a wreck it wouldn't matter☺

But pick n payless usually have engine hoists for there customers to use don't they? ??

They got to supply some items ?

yes is was thinking a jack from a boot there plus i could get a tyre laying around and put it under the car aswell and sit the engine on that. I would probly do that if they did not lift it out for me, only coz its safer when the next person comes along least the engine will be sitting on a tyre.

Hey jumpingjak, that's awesome dude-you won't be needing the BA engine mounts anyway-they make one hell of a mess when they explode thou hey, looking forward to your progress. Cheers Johnny.

I would like to use the cluster, key and key barrel. the only thing with useing the ba key is i would have to use the doors key barrel aswell.

the AU's [& i presume later models with the same door handles] door lock mounts differantly in the door handle so the door lock canna be used .... however i 'believe' you should be able to have your current door locks changed to suit?

hopefully i can make the locks fit, were there is a will there is a way :D. I was looking at the gearbox and it looks like there is a casting area for a speedo sensor to be fitted. I just need to know if there is a cog in there to turn the speed sensor cog. I should have the hole dash out 2morrow, so i can get most of the wireing out.. Going back to when i pulled the engine i was ment to mention, the chain i used for across the engine is only rated at 580kg and only just worked.. The links were they weld them, about 5out of 11 links craked at the weld. so i rekon the engine+box weighs about 700 to 750kg.. Every thing else i got for the hoist is rated at 1000kg and worked fine.

When lifting an Engine use old seatbelts, best thing ever, don't scratch anything and they are as strong as anything you will need.

You need to fit an extension housing from an E series or AU BTR, or one from a non ABS BA ute.
