there is also a casting area for me to drill and tap on the extention housing to fit the speed sensor. Im realy feeling like a can just add a speed sensor to this gearbox. I do remember sum1 saying be4 i need a e-series housing but im realy thinking its been built to add the sensor.. The 4bolts that hold the housing on they have a star typed bolt head and all my sockets are for square bolt heads coz none of my sockets fit on with out feeling like its going to round them.

ahhh i pulled out 1of the abs sensors off the front today. I noticed the end of the sensor was a magnet, so as the cog on the back of the wheel turns and each tooth comes close to the magnet on the sensor it interfears with the magnetic feild and sends pulses to the abs system to make it work. I was thinking the gearbox speed sensor would work the same on the utes that have no abs. Eny how i thort i could use this sensor as the speed sensor but it only had 2wires on it and i need a 3wire speed sensor. Did not realise the sensors are worth so much on ebay $100 for 1 abs sensor?

I went thru all the instrument cluster wires and there is no wires for the tacho or speedo so i presume they work straight off the pcm when it receives info from the speed sensor and im guessing the tacho runs off the crank shaft sensor. I was also thinking do you guys think i should change the cooling box thing for the gearbox for a bigger 1that gose at the front with the radiator or dose that little 1do the job ok?

Speed, temp, tacho, and a heap of the warning lights work off the CAN bus ( messages sent from the PCM,ICC,ABS body module etc. With changing the cooler, i would from what i have heard those ones next to the engine split more often than having it through the radiator one and milkshake the box, had happened to many a box.
