sanded the rim with 320 sand paper, after giving them a fairly decent wash down with degreaser and then soapy water and dried them off.
Attachment: prep wprk - sanded.JPG put some masking tape on the tyre, was going to tape it off completely and use news paperas well, and then i remembered that the tyres are bald, so i didn't bother too much. Attachment: tape.JPG couple coats of primer Attachment: primer.JPG after coat one, didnt want to have paint runs everywhere, so i did about 6 coats over a couple hours Attachment: first coat.JPG final coat Attachment: final.JPG Haven't done a clear coat, but i used matt black paint, so i'm not sure i need or want to. i can always do it later. Also, anyone have any thoughts, if i were to paint everything but the spokes white? like the cobra rims... i know it would be a pest to keep clean all the time, but it could look nice... or AWFULL Might start on wheel number two tomorrow if i can be bothered You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Went and jumped in the AU for work this morning, was running late of course, and when I tried to fire it up, the starter motor wouldn't even think about crankin over. Nothing. All electrics seemed to be working, but it would not turn over. So I borrowed old mates ute To get about.
At about 4 I got a call from the old fella saying that he successfully started her up first go. I was fuming. After a bit of toying when I got home, I think I found the issue, a loose inhibitor switch ( I think that's what it's called) on the gear stick, so it wasn't registering as being in P or N... Didn't really do much other than try and secure it better, but seems to be working fine now. Better result than a new starter motor, which is what I was getting grumpy about all day.

Make sure its seated properly and clean the contacts and even put some electrical tape over the plugs join. Pretty much what I tried straight away, but didn't didn't spend much time, stupid work, I wish it would work around my car time and not the other way. Will probably inspect closer on the weekend during the day when it's not some cold...

So the original plan was just to fix the standard sub and amp. but since i already have everyhting needed excluding power cable i figured what the heck..
Attachment: mount.jpg Attachment: amp.jpg neatly tucked behind trim for a stock look Attachment: hidden.jpg and then the stock look is gone... currently have a mono block running them, but only because i couldnt be bothered looking for my 2 channel tonight. Attachment: subs.jpg needs some better gauge wire for power as its running off the standard amp power line at the moment.... pathetic You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Trip computer bulb blew the other day and when I was pulling it out it broke in two.. So I went to ford spares and the guy working the counter gave me a spill about how I shouldn't have pulled it out because the globe and beazle are one unit. And then he quoted me 25 dollars a piece. So I said thanks, walked away and bought some red LED ones off Ebay, 6 for $10 from a place in QLD... Much cheaper and got rid of the awful orange

picked up a set of extractors with cats and HPC of a pursuit on ebay for a nice little sum. will be fitting them in the next week or so, so that should give me a nice grumble. From there i will decide whether i want a 3" exhaust or just leave it with the 2 1/2".

Was thinking about painting them up before throwing them on. Any advice? I know I will need to use heat resistant paint, but what preparation is recommended?
Cheers

Can't be bothered painting the extractors anymore, they are in good nick anyhow.
Still haven't gotten around to installing them though... I have however just ordered a set of super low king springs just need to get some shocks and I'll chuck them in too!!!

Chucked in the rear superlow springs and shocks today. Will move onto the fronts maybe next weekend. Sits muuch better. Will take photo tomorrow or so
Attachment: au rear.JPG Attachment: Opti6962.JPG Sitting nicer in the butt, tried putting the front in, but couldnt get the spring/shock out past the upper control arm, which i failed at getting out... any suggestions? can see the unfortunate carpark damage in the second shot, i have put some touch up paint so its not as unbearable, but definitely on my "to do" list. Extractors are getting fitted tomorrow (yes, i am to lazy to bother trying to fit myself). So once they are on, i believe the modding will desist and this thread will become more of a restoration, as was my original intention. Extractors fitted today, and it wasn't till later that I noticed a knock in the front end. Awesome. So the car is going back in tomorrow to have whatever is loose tightened up. Pain in the a**, but these things happen, especially to me.
