I was lucky enough to be taken for a short little squirt in the old girl today and I have to say I am impressed.
Where we were Yobbo couldnt really let it rip too much and he is still sorting a few niggling things out with it but it has a LOT of potential!
I was suitably impressed to be starting to swing across to the turbo brigade.......... the same as DA22LE's Maverick it is nice and sedate , cruise along then all of the sudden HOLY s**t!
When the day comes that I do join the club but it will be on 8 cylinders............

Most definately needs the venetition and bowls hat but dude. The driver is old enough to be able to carry it off..............

you need 2 turbos on a v8

That actually shows how little you know young Bradley.

i know you dont NEED two,
but why not go the twin way?

Well I went to the drags on Wed night but unfortunatly was very dissapointed with the result.

1st run was lots of pinging and breaking down, found the electrodes on the plugs had been burnt away, lol, so a quick steal of terrorist's cars plugs and a back off of the timing fixed this issue and I headed out again. Thanks Brett!!!

This is when we found there is a problem with either the gearbox or converter, at the top of second and all through top it is not putting power to the ground and feels like its slipping badly but at the same time stopping the car from reving out aswell, very weird....

The launch on the other hand was bloody fantastic, the stall is working perfect off the mark and holding nicely at 2800rpm and with the et streets I managed a best of a 1.78 sixty foot time, felt unreal launching that hard, I have never had anything that takes off like that. :)

The other strange thing is when I do the burnout before running it was pulling top gear and spinning easy as.... :? not a hint of slip etc at all.

on my best run my time slip reads like this:
60' : 1.803
330 : 5.459
1/8 : 8.626
mph : 77.04
1000: 11.440
1/4 : 13.907
mph : 90.17

So as you can see the problem is in the top half of the track, only gaining 13mph over the 2nd half of the track is bloody woeful.... The first half shows promise and with this sorted the numbers would show a 12 is definetly on the cards. bloody frustrating...

big thanks to Jase and Joe for all the help out there and putting up with me getting the s**t with the thing, lol.

Another idea I had , (my first one wasnt much good.............LOL) is what is your fuel pressure like in the top end? I had a similar problem with my old VL Turbo years ago. Would run fine , light them up like anything , go hard but when it was in the higher gears at speed and under max load it would feel like it was hitting a brick wall and sometimes ping. From memory under full load it would just stop reving or getting any faster at about 3500RPM.
Noone could replicate the issue on the dyno and after changing a million sensors and bits and pieces , I changed the fuel pump in a fit of desperation.
Problem fixed!
After 8 weeks of trying to fix it , spending christ knows how much cash and time it was a $250 pump. Sorted it right out and 2 days later traded it to my old man to buy his Camaro off him......
Might be worth chucking a fuel pressure guage on it and giving it another run.

Going by the 60 and 660ft times, it should have a low 13 or high 12 in it!

Been thought of and looked at and its not the issue. The modulator is bypassed with thte full manual valvebody and is not even connected to the car.
