come again... tool box holes? there are mounts back there? where?

you cant just put new tweets into the A pillar, where the orginal ones are? i am thinking of doing the same... but just dont have the cash at my disposal right now for that sorta thing... unfortunately...

my paint was recently DEAD on the bonnet, but alot of cut, polish and sweat later... looks good as new...

Not so much mounts as holes where they were screwed into the floor, tbh. Lol

Original tweeters? I don't have any.
Plus... I hate them sticking out... think they look ghey.

Nup. Was an XLS. Not too much difference between them, though, in so far as I can gather.

Lol... yeah, you could do the same thing, I assume you still have the little shelf bit that my sub box is sitting on. I'm not sure what's under it, but I'm fairly sure the tool boxes are a factory option and mine were just screwed into the side of the shelf. I'll try and get some photos of exactly what I've done for you.

Cost me about $200 for my whole sound system so far, including wood and carpet. :D

this is the tweet spot i was talking about, would it be worth maybe getting your hands on these plastics from an XR? just a thought if you were looking for a neat solution...
Image

there is nothing under it really, low_ryda's build thread has an image of it. he sound proofed it all... its just the body work really...

im lucky... cousins a carpenter and he owes me a fair bit, so his going to do it all for me :p haha

Some more photos of what I've been up to

The front bar, remember this is stock height :D

Front bar again, with a view of my side repeater

Side repeater again, note that my side skirts are not on yet. They are primed and ready though.

Side repeater again

Another side repeater shot.. tried to give a few angles as someone else mentioned they'd thought about doing it. This is in the stock side repeater position.

You can't see it really well, but this is my number plate light. It's actually been retro fitted from a Holden VN Commodore.

What I've been up to tonight; shaved the knob thingos that the soft top clips onto

It is fecking sexy :D I love it.
Yeah... XR50. Got it off a shop on ebay, I had a look but it doesn't look like he's making them any more.

Cost me something like 600-700 plus postage for the whole kit... not a bad deal, tbh :D
