If commodore yobbos can manage it, anyone can.. |

Also, as a side note, I'm pretty sure putting the side repeaters in the stock AU spot was the right choice.
In the FGs they're up higher, and I thought it looked a little weird having them so low when I first put them on but I think it works well. |

yeah well thats it aye, no point in doing something for yourself if you arent happy with it.
haha all good... never took it negatively. i did have a good laugh at it :p he is in the process of selling his vs for a vu v8 ute... im curious to go out for a drive with him when he gets it. his vs had a lot of go and it was only a six... not that i would ever get one, but it is a nice ute.

I'm actually a big fan of the VS ute... the V8, though.
Way I see it, that's the upside to doing it yourself. If you'r enot happy with it, you just redo it.. again and again until you get it right. Not so easy when you're paying someone to do it for you. I'm the first to admit that I'm no expert but I learn from what I do and I try to take other peoples advice, too. |

Wth a bit of luck I may have picked up an interior
It's not exactly what I wanted but I think it's close enough (it's out of the BA) But the price is good, can always upgrade and onsell again further down the track |

Will be a bit of effort but I'm sure you pull it off well... Seats and all or not?

Seats and door trims (including handles/window switches etc) from a Sedan, so I actually have more than required. Lol.

I'll be going and checking it out this weekend, if it's all sweet I'll grab it.
Shouldn't be much effort to put it in, from what I can gather. Will see once I get it home. |

Interior was sweet, got it home.
Took out my old seats and door trims and had a bit of a squiz. It's not going to be a straight bolt across but I never really expected it to be (though you can hope). Some of the mounting points on the door trims line up, but the BA trims have a few extra ones. Will start my attempt at actually getting them on tomorrow. In the meantime, here are some pics of the new interior. Front seats Front Door trims: A bit of these has been painted blue (obviously) to match the rest of the blokes interior that I got it off, but I'll be taking them back to grey/silver. Back seats Came with front and back seats and door trims, plus all the door handles and window switches (Which were from a BA Sedan that only had front electric windows, so the switches won't look odd in the ute ) and the two front window regs |

Ok, so here's the current thinking:
Photos of the door trims (pic quality isn't the best, took them with my phone) AU: BA: They're the same shape. Circles are mounts that (without measuring) will match up (colour coded lol) Red Squares are s**t that doesn't match up to anything but are just removable clips. The blue stars you can't really see but they're two plastic protrusions that don't exist on the AU trims, but are not "removable" as such, so I'll just have to cut those, I suspect. (the one on the right may not be accurate, it's around there somewhere but I couldn't see it on this crappy photo XD) If anyone has done this mod before any advice before I start butchering my door trims would be appreciated XD I had a look through the forums, but the search function is useless. I may post a seperate thread up about this. Last edited by Zellus on Tue Apr 17, 2012 9:50 pm, edited 1 time in total. |
