I am after a set of driving lights, the ones which go down the bottom of the front bar of an EL.

Theyre actually cornering lights, not driving lights! Pretty much useless if you want decent driving lights.

They light up the side, not really infront of your car; they also do NOT fit XR bumpers, they have slightly different shaped holes in the corners.
These lights are in stock form "cornering lamps" and illuminate for during indication and 3 seconds after roughly - one side at a time.
Many have modified them to stay on all the time or on a switch or with parkers/headlights/highbeams; these will fit fairmont, ghia, fairlane, LTD n so on bumpers..

Are there any lights that will fit in an XR bar?

Not perfectly, but if you look hard enough at Repco/Autobarn etc you will find some that will sit in there fairly well, or sit in behind them nicely.
