Hi guys, I am after a knock sensor, looks like mine has given up and now I can't rev over 3 grand with any power. Power is down in the entire rev range.. anyone got one spare laying about?

Dave

Same here.
Would the knock sensor cause the car to not rev or idle properly? Can only revs to 3 grand and has know power.
I know the knock sensor is broken but would this be causing the problem?
Cheers

Schnoza, yeah I am lead to believe this is definatly the case. I thought leads at first but after changing them, problem still exsisted. Everything else has either been inspected or changed. I have no idle issues though, I thought filters would be an issue but no again. Honestly think it is the knock sensor, picked up a used one for $25, So I will let you know if that sorts my probs.. sounds like you have similar issues. except for the idle. But knock sensors can effect that too.

Highly doubt a knock sensor would reduce power this much.

Unplug it, then you'll know for sure.

I'd be looking at the cat/exhaust/induction for any 'flowing probs'

Well i done a head gasket change. Think it is knock sensor and timing which is out. Think these two problems are causing the problem. I need to get a new knock sensor as when the intake manifold was of, it broke the sensor.
