Check the site that he mentioned above - there is a nice yellow one that has just dropped in price to $16000. A bargain given the GT stuff that is attached and the price you would pay to build something like this

what about a south african XY Fairmont GT? for all intents and purposes, they're closer to the real thing than a replica will ever be, and thier prices arent too bad

S.A gt's still need a full retrim and wheels aswell as boot mould and rear bumper because of the cuts for the s.a number plates .the colours are wrong aswell , best to stick with a Aussie one IMO

why a retrim? granted, the trim would be incorrect for an Australian GT, but retrimming an SA GT with Australian spec trim would be destroying its originality, as would replacing all of the little bits that make the SA GT's different to an Australian one

sure, you wount get the padded glovebox lid, the interior trim will be a lil different, the bootlid garnish will read "Fairmont GT", the brakelight and indicator lenses will be the wrong way around and the instruments will all be in metric, but does it really matter? more importantly, is it worth destroying the originality to make it just another replica of an Australian spec GT?

true but the title of the thread is "wanted xy gt replica"

a S.A GT is far from a genuine aussie GT. although mechanically are basically the same.
