hey all. got a new bub on the way and need a bit more boot space so the 2 12's are coming out and im chasing an 8" to go in there. i would like an aftermarket one, but it seems no company makes them any more. so im stuck with hunting down some old ones. also ebay has none.

i hope someone out there has one for me

JBL or JL Audio(can't remember name) make 8" subs.Go to Jb Hi Fi and ask them to order one in.I know they make them cause my other half was after one. They are generally in stock and have to be specially ordered.

I have a brand new never used Cerwin Vega 8" sub at home.

Cant remember the exact model, but I do remember it was one of the higher end comp models. Needed about 130W RMS.

Can get the model and details when I get home next week.

But in the end was looking for $150 ono for it.

the venom sub is fine. As for other brands there is JL, pioneer, rockford fosgate all make them although they are pricey. For the value for money the jaycar will be best, as long as your think your system out properley and get the right gear to go with it.

cheers brenden, i have everything else there i just want to downsize the subs. as i have the same issues you had. im thinking the 100wrms MTX monoblock should do fine on it as its running my 12 inch with no probs and also ran the 2 12's easy.

When you get an 8 inch, get some 6x9's as well. The 8 inch and 6x9's will work well together giving people the impression of a bigger sub, as was the case with mine. IIRC jaycar recommend that you use the sub in a ported box for optimum performance. Mine was in an undersized sealed box and was under powered but worked really well

i dont really wanna hack up the parcel shelf so if i was to go 6x9's it would be mounted under the shelf with factory covers on top. alot of muching around but we will see how it goes
