Hi All,

I know it's probably a long shot...but if anyone (Darren / Nick?) knows where I can source a BA XR exhaust chrome tip from, I'm keen to try one out on my EL - I think my cutout in the rear skirt should be ok...again just an experiment.

I suspect (knowing Ford!) that the chrome tip is a part of the whole rear exhaust assembly, but if there's one being wrecked or something - it might be a goer.

Thanks in advance,
Steve

Rapier reckons the tip won't fit :( Ah well - I'll have to make some measurements...I think yours might be different though Peter - the rear skirt on an 8 has a bigger cutout - Pierre can confirm this too I think.

I'll still look for one...maybe do some mods to make it fit *shrugs*

After the AFD on sunday i have a heap of ideas for a new exhaust tip, im thinking twin dump pipes or something in the twin tip range. :) But saw some shockers thats for sure!!!

BTW i was gonna get a BA GT tip made up for the xr6 ($150+)!! most exhaust places should be able to make them up so they can fit and look neat on the back of an E series car.

Should be the same diff with the BA XR ones :)

Yep no worries, im trying to find the money to get my new custom made exhaust system as well so hopefully i can do it all in the one hit. :)

Dont why someone would do it but when i was at the AFD i saw a dude with a single dump pipe which would of easily been a 4-5inch in size and it was sticking out heaps  That was pretty nasty.

Also saw a TS 50 with twin 3inch dump pipes that looked pretty tough not sure about the look of that on my Xr thou :?

Smackdown - I'll have to take a look and see what is available over here...I haven't done a lot of research yet...just thought I'd ask on here first :)

Peter - yeah dunno...will have to compare next time ! The 8's got a larger cutout AFAIK - Fusion should be able to confirm as I think he has the larger cutout on his car.

Actually...from memory they're made of stainless steel, not chrome.
Get back to me if you're interested and I'll get you a price.
