Hi guys, bought an LSD with a different yoke to the one that was in my car. Not to worry as the yoke will come out by simply undoing the nut holding it in. While this was the case with the stock diff, with the LSD, a large portion of the car's entire weight on the 1/2 Breaker Bar was not enough to undo that nut.
So time has come to look for a tailshaft to match the yoke rather than swapping it over. Does anyone have a tailshaft to suit my needs? A picture of a yoke the same as the one on the LSD is pictured below. Attachment: Thanks, Ryan

eeh, thats an early diff yoke. And i wouldnt go undoing that nut, even if you do get it loose it has to be torqued correctly as the pinion needs pre load. Id be using your old diff housing with that LSD centre.

You must of got lucky on the old diff! You genually need a special tool for this. It looks like a steel plate with a pole welded to it, you bolt to the yolk holes and the handle holds it steady againt the underbody. There is a big hole in the centre of the plate to get your socket of the breaker bar in.
It may be easier to change your uni joint or look at what the diff shops use and make one if you can't source your parts. |
