Hi All,

Helping my younger brother look for a car, and there's not much out there at the moment, so thought I'd post this up.

After an EF or EL (6 cylinder) Falcon/Futura or Fairmont in good, clean condition.

MUST have ABS and preferrably dual airbags.
Must have rego.
NO LPG
Would prefer a wagon, but really it depends on what pops up.

Let me know what you've got!

Thanks,

Justin.

Chick mate of mines got a Blue EF Fairmont 20#,###k's body's not bad, interior needs a clean, needs a service (she had it for a year drove it all of 8000k's) never added oil or water.

Lives in a flat and bought a eXcel. I think she's after about 3k for it.

Interested I'll let her know.

Ef Futura wagon.....its green in some light and blue in others(although FLH guard is heritage green. Nothing special done to it, just a stock futura wagon.

290 on the clock...but personally, km's don't mean s**t. Good starting car if its his first. Wasnt planning on selling, but if offer is right, then why not. I hate wagons anyway.

If intrested, will throw in a Tickford motor, trip comp, climate control(everything needed for), fairmont cluster from car in pic below, fairmont bonnet and Jaycar bought shift kit, fronts are power windows, but everything needed for full conversion there. Was going to do all this myself, but if i can get rid of it all for right price, then I can get my ute and the mrs her s**t laser.

Depending on offer, Ef head that was checked over only about 5000km ago thrown in as well.

Thanks mate, semi interested - would depend on condition really. Body and interior don't have to be perfect (he'll probably stack it) but it does need to be in excellent mechanical condition.

Thanks mate. Unless it's dirt cheap, it's probably got a few too many kays for what we're after, plus I don't want to have to stuff around organising paint for the guard.

Mechanically no, its got a vacuum leak and I should amend it, but she won't let me cos I said I'll go over it completely replace the gasket etc.

She said nah, I just wanna get rid of it. but she' did offer to get a service b4 selling.

I kinda steered her away from it as I know someone will charge her 200 for the inlet gasket replacement.

No worries, thanks. I'll probably wait and see what pops up over the next few days, and will give you a yell if he's interested.

Thanks,

Justin.

Thanks mate, but it sounds like a touch too much work for my brother though - he's going interstate to uni, and knows nothing about cars, so needs something reliable with no issues.

Out of curiosity, I may be interested in it for myself if it's cheap enough, what are you after for it all?

Does it have ABS mate? He's actually moving to Hobart, so this could be a good thing.

I think it does have ABS. This is my grandparents car. Does have Cruise, and i remember something about Cruise requiring ABS.

Cool. If you could confirm abs, then get back to me with a price. Would probably need RWC as well.

Can confirm it doesn't have ABS. Well, that's after checking with the old man (an I know what his memory is like :P)

There is no need for RWC in Tasmania when buying/selling vehicles.

Was looking for around $5,000. (This is where a heap of people start saying "omg 5k for a gli?")

The only mark on it is just above the towbar which copped a scratch from the caravan. Has had an attempted repair, doesn't quite match LOL

Ok thanks. Sorry, but it must have ABS. If it does end up having it (most cruise equipped glis do) then let me know. It will need to be negotiable though.
