i too recently bought one of those crap $40 ones off ebay, only too find out that it didnt fit properly. Trying too find the good earlier ones is gonna be near impossible as there are not made anymore, so wat im doing is fixing up the ebay one by applying putty where is needed, my mate is a spraypainter and his gonna make sure it fits nice, will post pics when its done. hopefully will come good but just gonna take a lot of time.

is that putty what the painter told u to use?
usually it gets used to fill 1mm thick scratches etc, shouldnt really use it thicker than 2mm or so cos it will just fall off if flexed , like when the bonnet flexes opening it. i would have keyed the fibreglass with 24 grit sandpaper and built it up with more glass. septone have a good product for this, comes in a tin like bog. it is called fibreglass filler, glass fibres and resin is premixed u just add hardener.

yea i did think twice about using this but the thickest part is prob about 3mm and it has dried really hard, i dout it will flex all that much anyway being seperate to he bonnet, i guess we'll se wat happens.

if i were able to make these than yea for sure, but this is one of those crap ebay ones that dont fit all that good, i spent alot of time in getting it to fit right, i evan attached proper mounting bolts to it so that it can be mounted to the bonnet just like the factory unit. next will be to mod the airbox lid so that the scoop will be come functional.
